Summary
Our direct client seeking a Product Engineer to join their dynamic logistics and product development teams at their Fremont, California facility. The ideal candidate will combine deep knowledge of product engineering and logistics with the ability to drive scalable, automated solutions in a high-growth environment.
This position focuses on end-to-end ownership of product design and implementation within our logistics ecosystem-particularly around Transportation Management Systems (TMS), carrier integrations, and automation frameworks.
You'll work closely with stakeholders, engineers, and operations leaders to ensure logistics systems continue to set global standards in efficiency, sustainability, and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Lead stakeholder discussions to translate business objectives into detailed product requirements, user stories, and project roadmaps.
Design and deliver solutions using first-principles thinking to automate and scale logistics processes.
Oversee the full software product lifecycle-from defining requirements through release management and post-launch evaluation.
Collaborate with Engineering, UX, and Operations teams to define scalable architecture enabling future innovation and growth.
Align priorities and drive sprint planning in an Agile environment while managing competing projects.
Develop and track KPIs and success metrics for product adoption, performance, and business impact.
Conduct complex SQL-based data analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for optimization across transport networks.
Apply logistics domain expertise (inbound/outbound shipments, cross-docking, route optimization, and carrier management) to ensure operational excellence.
Partner with internal and external stakeholders to onboard carriers, manage EDI systems, and ensure smooth ERP and cloud system integrations.
Required Qualifications
5 8 years of experience as a Product Engineer, Product Manager, or related role within logistics, supply chain, or transportation technology domains.
Hands-on experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and logistics operations (inbound/outbound, route optimization, EDI, carrier onboarding, invoicing, cross-docking).
Proven ability to work cross-functionally with Engineering, UX, and Business Operations stakeholders.
Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) best practices.
Proficient in JIRA Software and Confluence.
Demonstrated technical versatility in API integrations, cloud architecture, and ERP systems.
Strong analytical and communication skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
Thrives in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with a passion for solving complex problems from first principles.
Preferred Skills
Automotive or manufacturing industry experience (bonus).
Familiarity with SQL, Python, or other data analysis tools.
Experience with AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or similar cloud infrastructure.
