Summary

JOB SUMMARY
Adjunct faculty are responsible for presenting instruction in the specified subject area. The payment method is based on a lump-sum credit-hour payment.
INSTRUCTION
Provides instruction in the theory and practical applications of Drafting Technology in accordance with academic state standards.
Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in Drafting Technology.
Instructs courses in a classroom and lab environment that closely simulates the environment of the industry.
Instructs face-to-face, blended, or on-campus, as needed, in accordance with college faculty loads.
Prepare standardized course syllabi using the provided template.
Assesses student progress based on established course grading requirements; grades all coursework in a timely manner.
Utilizes current technology in the classroom and lab.
Meets with students, staff members, and other educators to discuss student instructional programs and other issues.
Maintains program certification/accreditation requirements as appropriate for the teaching discipline.
May be required to attend professional development training as required for specific classroom course delivery.
Selected candidates must be able to work morning or evening hours, Monday through Thursday.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelors in Drafting or Computer Aided Design (CAD) from an accredited institution with a minimum of three (3) years in field
Associates in Drafting or Computer Aided Design (CAD) from an accredited institution with a minimum of seven (7) years in field.
Valid driver's license.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Masters in Drafting or Computer Aided Design (CAD) or related field from an accredited institution. 18 hours must be focused on the field of study
Directly related teaching experience at the post-secondary level.
Online teaching experience.

PAY & BENEFITS
Lump sum, with a range of $1650.00 to $2025.00.
All adjunct positions are part-time, temporary positions offered on a per-semester basis based on the needs of the college.
Adjunct positions do not include benefits or promises of future full-time employment.
All courses are face-to-face unless otherwise indicated.

SAFETY AND TECHNOLOGY
Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the Drafting Technology program.
Supports faculty to ensure all equipment is in working order.
Ensure students are instructed in and follow all safety rules for operating equipment and using tools.
Ensure classrooms and work areas are properly cleaned and maintained at all times.
CURRICULUM/STUDENT AND PROGRAM LEARNING OUTCOMES
Prepares course curriculum, syllabi, goals, and objectives.
Prepares lesson plans for instruction.
Works collaboratively with faculty within the discipline to establish, measure, and evaluate program or departmental student learning outcomes for continuous student improvement and success, and submits to the Program Director.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in a professional classroom and lab environment. This role routinely uses standard office, classroom, and lab equipment and technology.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, talk, or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move classroom/lab equipment and supplies up to 25 pounds.
