Job Description:
We are looking for a Search Experience Strategist (SEO + AEO) with deep expertise in organic search, answer engine optimization, and content discoverability across traditional and AI‑driven search experiences for 7-Eleven and 7NOW web and mobile. The ideal candidate will design and optimize end‑to‑end search experiences that connect user intent to relevant, high‑quality content, ensuring visibility across search engines, generative AI systems, and emerging answer platforms.
This role requires strong experience in search strategy development, cross‑functional collaboration, and hands‑on optimization, with the ability to translate business objectives and user needs into scalable, measurable search experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
· Search Experience Strategy: Define and execute enterprise‑level search strategies that support SEO and AEO, ensuring content is discoverable, understandable, and authoritative across engines and AI‑powered answer surfaces.
· Intent & Journey Mapping: Analyze user intent and behaviors across the search journey, aligning search experiences to awareness, consideration, and conversion stages.
· Information Architecture for Search: Partner with UX and content teams to influence site structure, taxonomy, internal linking, and metadata strategies.
· AEO & AI Search Optimization: Optimize content for featured snippets, rich results, voice search, and generative AI responses.
· Content & Keyword Strategy: Lead keyword, topic, and entity research to inform content planning and optimization.
· Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Work closely with UX designers, product managers, developers, and content strategists.
· Measurement & Optimization: Define success metrics, analyze performance data, and continuously optimize search experiences.
· Enterprise Enablement: Create frameworks, standards, and governance models to scale search excellence.

Preferred Qualifications
· Experience optimizing content for generative AI, answer engines, and conversational search experiences
· Familiarity with marketing platforms, campaign engines, and personalization systems
· Experience supporting e‑commerce or transaction‑driven search experiences
· Strong understanding of UX, content strategy, and their intersection with search
Additional Skills and Other Requirements
· Online portfolio or documented case studies demonstrating SEO and AEO strategies and outcomes
· Expertise in sitemaps, programmatic SEO, and CMSdriven content optimization at scale
· Demonstrated track record of producing and scaling highquality SEO content, such as blog posts, evergreen content, category pages, and landing pages that drive measurable organic growth.
· Experience managing and prioritizing content calendars aligned to customer intent, business goals, evolving search landscapes, and competitive positioning.
· Mastery of SEO tools and platforms (e.g., Search Console, analytics platforms, crawling tools)
· Strong knowledge of technical SEO, structured data, and content optimization best practices
· Experience partnering with UX and engineering teams to integrate search requirements into design systems
· Advanced analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
· Exceptional time management skills and the ability to manage multiple initiatives concurrently
· Understanding of agile methodologies and how search strategy integrates into agile product teams
· Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, and presentation
· Relentless curiosity about search behavior, AI, technology, and evolving discovery models
Education and Experience
Education: Bachelor’s/4‑year degree
Years of Relevant Work Experience: 5+ years
Certifications/Licenses: Degree preferably in Marketing, Information Science, Communications, or related field. Equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
