Job Title: Oracle SQL Database Management
Location: Washington, DC 20590 (onsite)
Type: Contract
Compensation: $57.52 - $65.80/HR on W2
Security Clearance: This position requires the ability to obtain a Public Trust.  Candidate must be able to work in the US without sponsorship. 

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle database environments, ensuring optimal performance and security.
• Manage high-availability solutions such as SQL Server clustering, Always-On, Oracle RAC, and Data Guard.
• Perform regular database maintenance including indexing, statistics updates, backups, and upgrades.
• Monitor and troubleshoot database performance issues, analyze query execution plans, and optimize SQL queries.
• Manage user access, roles, permissions, and audit database activities for security purposes.
• Design, implement, and oversee database migration projects, including cloud migrations to Azure and AWS.
• Configure and troubleshoot replication, mirroring, log shipping, and other data synchronization solutions.
• Leverage tools such as SQL Profiler, OEM, OEM monitoring, and shell scripting to maintain database health.
• Participate in on-call support, routine patches, and disaster recovery testing.

• High School diploma or equivalent education.
• Minimum 3 years of experience managing SQL Server and Oracle databases.
• Oracle and SQL Certified.
• Proficient in SQL Cluster, Always-On, Azure Managed Instances, and cloud database migration.
• Experience with Azure, AWS RDS, EC2, Linux shell scripting, Oracle Data Guard, and Oracle RAC.
• Strong knowledge of database security, TDE, Oracle STIG, and DR testing.
• Ability to troubleshoot and optimize complex database environments.
• Excellent teamwork and availability for on-call support.
