Overview

DecisionPoint is seeking a Planning Coordinator to join our team in Atlanta, GA, to provide comprehensive planning and operational support during public health Incident Management System (IMS) activations across preparedness, response, and recovery phases.

This is a 100% in-person position. Telework may be allowed occasionally if approved by the Technical Monitor and COR.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain public health emergency response plans and annexes.
  • Support the Planning Section during IMS activations as the Documentation Desk.
  • Develop Planning Section documentation (Incident Action Plans, Situational Reports, transition planning, etc.), Planning Section Briefings, meeting materials, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and planning templates.
  • Develop, update, and maintain all-hazards public health emergency response plans, annexes, and operational planning documents.
  • Support development and updates to the Incident Action Plans (IAPs), transition planning, and other Planning Section planning documents.
  • Ensure alignment with national frameworks (e.g. National Incident Management System, National Response Framework).
  • Maintain planning documentation consistent with federal preparedness and response standards.
  • Provide direct support to Planning Section during IMS activations, exercises, and steady-state operations.
  • Assist in development and dissemination of Situation Reports (SITREPs), Incident Action Plans (IAPs), and planning meeting materials and other operations planning documents.
  • Collect, validate, and synthesize data from multiple sources to support situational awareness.
  • Produce written and visual products (reports, briefings) for leadership decision-making.
  • Maintain documentation and records of response activities an accordance with established standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure quality control and accuracy of all planning and reporting products.
Qualifications
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree with 4 years' experience in emergency management or equivalent experience; seven years' experience in emergency management and 2 years specifically in public health emergency management may substitute).
  • Demonstrated Experience in emergency management, public health preparedness, or incident management.
  • Working knowledge of:
    • Incident Command System (ICS) / Incident Management System (IMS).
    • National Incident Management System (NIMS).
    • Public health emergency frameworks and doctrine.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Planner).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to:
    • Work under pressure in high-tempo environments.
    • Manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
    • Communicate effectively in briefings and written products.
  • Strong attention to detail and proofreading skills.
  • Ability to coordinate across multiple time zones and agencies.
  • Must maintain readiness for IMS activation, including extended hours, shift work, and surge support.
  • Ability to participate in required exercises and real-world responses.
