Reviews financial data from budget and actual costs of projects. Operates independently and seeks guidance when appropriate. Position may be required to work extended hours for coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.

Primary Duties

  • Lead defined technical workstreams or subprojects, including problem definition, impact quantification, and evaluation of technology effectiveness.
  • Perform and review system modeling and simulations to quantify grid impacts such as reliability improvements, capacity relief, resilience benefits, and power quality enhancements.
  • Develop and support cost-benefit analyses for emerging technology initiatives, including estimating grid value, customer value, avoided costs, and scalability considerations.
  • Support design, execution, and evaluation of pilot projects by defining success metrics, analyzing results, and translating outcomes into quantified business value.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, Beneficial Electrification, IT, OT, and cybersecurity teams to ensure technical solutions align with operational and economic objectives.
  • Apply advanced analytics using AMI, DERMS, SCADA, GIS, and other data sources to develop predictive insights and quantify system performance improvements.
  • Contribute to business case development, technical documentation, and leadership briefings that clearly articulate problem statements, quantified impacts, and economic justification.
  • Provide technical guidance, peer review, and informal mentorship to Engineers, particularly in modeling, impact assessment, and benefit quantification methods.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and regulatory developments that influence valuation, cost recovery, and technology adoption strategies.
  • Performs engineering tasks associated with critical engineering projects or a number of small projects with many complex features. (50%)
  • Performs assignments in areas where engineering precedents are incomplete, lacking or require broad experience. (30%)
  • Evaluates, develops and implements projects that have moderate financial and operational impact. (10%)
