Summary

About the engagement

The client is a large grocery wholesale and distribution organization, is replacing its legacy warehouse management system with Manhattan Active WM, one distribution center at a time. The program includes Manhattan Active TM for inbound appointment scheduling and a full set of integrations between Manhattan, NetSuite (ERP) and other internal systems. Snowflake is the integration layer: it sources and transforms data going into Manhattan, and takes Manhattan's events from Google Cloud Pub/Sub and routes them to downstream systems.

The integrations cover the core warehouse transactions:

•     Receiving: purchase orders, supplier POs for appointment scheduling, and ASNs from EDI 856 feeds or generated from PO data, plus receipt variance messages back to the ERP.

•     Shipments: store and member orders into Manhattan and ship confirmations back, including reconciling ERP soft allocation with Manhattan hard allocation.

•     Inventory adjustments and transfers: cycle counts, write-offs and DC-to-DC transfers, including temporary integrations with the legacy system during a phased rollout.

•     Reconciliation: nightly item-level reconciliation between Manhattan and the ERP.

The role

You will be the person on the ground: the link between the client's business and IT teams and our offshore delivery team. You will work with warehouse, merchandising, finance and IT stakeholders to understand how the business runs, turn that into clear functional and technical designs, and then lead the offshore team to build, test and deliver those integrations to the required quality and schedule.

Key responsibilities

Requirements and business engagement

•     Lead or co-lead process walkthroughs and interface mapping sessions with warehouse operations, buyers, finance and IT.

•     Understand current-state processes and systems, and define future-state data flows for receiving, shipping, inventory adjustments and transfers.

•     Identify gaps, dependencies and open decisions early; keep a decision and action log with owners and dates, and drive items to closure.

Functional and technical design

•     Write functional design documents for each interface: business purpose, triggers, process flow, business rules, exceptions and acceptance criteria.

•     Write technical design documents and field-level mapping specifications: source and target fields, transformations, code translations, validation, error handling and sample payloads.

•     Design integration patterns in Snowflake and Pub/Sub, including deduplication, sequencing, retries, error queues and replay, and audit trails back to the originating transaction.

•     Review and align designs with the client's architects, the Manhattan implementation partner and the ERP team, and obtain sign-off.

Offshore delivery leadership

•     Break designs into well-defined work items with clear acceptance criteria, and hand off to the offshore team with the context they need.

•     Run daily handoffs across time zones, answer questions quickly, and remove blockers.

•     Review code, SQL and test results to ensure deliverables meet the design and quality standards before they reach the client.

•     Track progress against the plan, report status and risks to the client and Blumetra leadership, and escalate early when schedule is at risk.

Testing, cutover and go-live

•     Define test scenarios and data; coordinate interface, end-to-end and user acceptance testing with warehouse users.

•     Contribute to cutover planning and mock cutovers, including inventory and open-transaction migration and reconciliation.

•     Provide onsite go-live and hypercare support, triaging integration issues by business impact.

Required qualifications

•     8+ years in enterprise integration or supply chain systems, including at least 3 years on warehouse management system implementations (Manhattan Active WM strongly preferred; Manhattan WMOS, Blue Yonder or Körber/HighJump considered).

•     Solid understanding of warehouse transactions and how they integrate with an ERP: purchase orders, ASNs, receipts, order fulfillment, ship confirmation, inventory adjustments and transfer orders.

•     A track record of writing functional and technical design documents and interface mapping specifications that developers can build from.

•     Strong hands-on SQL, and experience with a cloud data platform (Snowflake preferred).

•     Experience with API and message-based integration: REST, JSON/XML, and messaging such as Google Pub/Sub or Kafka, including error handling and idempotency.

•     Proven experience leading offshore development teams to deliver on quality and schedule.

•     Excellent communication skills; comfortable leading working sessions with both business users and technical teams.

•     Authorized to work in the United States, and able to work onsite in Spokane, WA.

Preferred qualifications

•     Experience integrating Manhattan Active WM or TM, including Manhattan inventory (PIX) transactions and ASN verify.

•     NetSuite integration experience, particularly inventory, order commitment and allocation.

•     EDI experience, particularly 850 purchase orders and 856 ASNs.

•     Grocery or food distribution experience: catch weight, lot and expiry tracking, multi-temperature zones and store replenishment.

•     Experience with phased, multi-DC WMS rollouts and cutovers.

•     Experience with Google Cloud Platform.

What success looks like

•     First 30 days: understands the client's processes, systems and people; owns the interface inventory and the open decisions log.

•     First 90 days: signed-off functional and technical designs for receiving, shipping and inventory interfaces; offshore team building against them with a predictable delivery cadence.

•     Go-live: integrations delivered on schedule, tested with warehouse users, and inventory reconciling cleanly between Manhattan and the ERP.
