Senior Java Full Stack Product Engineer – Wealth & Retirement

Location: Jersey City, NJ

Experience: 8–10+ years

Domain: Wealth Management / Retirement / Financial Services

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly capable Senior Java Full Stack Product Engineer with strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs, and AWS cloud technologies, combined with strong product management, product ownership, and transformation leadership capabilities.

The ideal candidate will serve as a critical bridge between Product, Business, Operations, Architecture, and Engineering teams, translating business strategy and customer needs into product roadmaps, technology solutions, and measurable business outcomes.

The candidate should have strong domain expertise in Wealth Management and Retirement products, particularly 401(k), 403(b), Pension, IRA, and Recordkeeping Services, along with experience driving modernization and transformation initiatives within complex financial-services environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide product management, product ownership, and techno-functional leadership across strategic financial-services initiatives.
  • Own or materially influence product strategy, roadmap, prioritization, requirements, and delivery for complex retirement and wealth-management products.
  • Translate business strategy into customer journeys, product capabilities, epics, features, functional requirements, and technology roadmaps.
  • Partner closely with senior Product, Business, Operations, Architecture, and Engineering stakeholders to drive alignment and execution.
  • Serve as the primary connective layer between business and technology teams, ensuring successful translation of business needs into scalable technical solutions.
  • Define and track business outcomes, KPIs, success metrics, and customer-value indicators rather than focusing solely on technology delivery.
  • Manage competing priorities, cross-team dependencies, regulatory requirements, risks, and modernization initiatives across multi-year transformation roadmaps.
  • Lead solution discussions involving Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs, and AWS cloud services.
  • Design and develop scalable, secure, high-performance backend services and APIs.
  • Contribute to full-stack engineering initiatives and collaborate with frontend and platform engineering teams as required.
  • Drive cloud-native application development and modernization using AWS services.
  • Provide technical leadership around AWS security, IAM, networking, scalability, reliability, and cost optimization.
  • Work with NoSQL databases such as Amazon DynamoDB and MongoDB.
  • Apply AI across the Product Development Lifecycle (AIPDLC / AI-Accelerated Delivery) to improve productivity and accelerate delivery across requirements, design, development, testing, and release.
  • Leverage AI-enabled engineering practices to reduce the time from business requirements to production while maintaining quality, security, and governance.
  • Represent programs and transformation initiatives with senior stakeholders and drive timely decisions across business and technology teams.
  • Mentor engineers and contribute to engineering best practices, architecture decisions, and delivery standards.
