Summary

About the Role

We're seeking a hands-on Embedded Systems Engineer to join a growing engineering team focused on developing and supporting hardware-based products from prototype through production. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of firmware, electronics, PCB design, and electromechanical systems.

The ideal candidate is equally comfortable writing embedded C++ code, troubleshooting hardware in the lab, and collaborating on product-ready designs.

Required Qualifications

  • 2-5+ years of Embedded Systems Engineering experience
  • Strong embedded development experience using C/C++
  • Experience working with microcontrollers and embedded systems
  • Hands-on PCB experience including component selection, design reviews, schematic interpretation, and hardware modifications
  • Experience troubleshooting electromechanical systems involving motors, sensors, actuators, or related devices
  • Proficiency using lab equipment such as:
    • Oscilloscopes
    • Multimeters
    • Logic analyzers
  • Strong understanding of digital and analog electronics fundamentals
  • Experience debugging hardware and firmware issues

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing products that have progressed into production or commercial deployment
  • Startup or fast-paced product development experience
  • Familiarity with communication protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C, USB, CAN, or Ethernet
  • Python scripting experience for automation, testing, or diagnostics
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, product validation, or production testing
  • Git/version control experience

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain embedded firmware in C/C++
  • Support PCB design reviews, hardware bring-up, and system troubleshooting
  • Debug circuit boards, electronic assemblies, and embedded systems
  • Integrate and troubleshoot sensors, motors, drivers, and other electromechanical components
  • Utilize laboratory tools to diagnose hardware and system-level issues
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to transition designs from prototype to production
  • Create technical documentation, test procedures, and debugging reports

What We're Looking For

We're looking for an engineer who enjoys building real-world products and is comfortable getting hands-on with both hardware and firmware. Candidates who have supported products through development, testing, and release will stand out.
