What you will be doing
We are looking for an Intermediate Field Service Engineer to join our USA Service Team. Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, you will provide installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and training support for our SIFT-MS instruments across a diverse customer base.
More than maintaining instruments, you will act as a trusted technical partner to customers, helping them maximise the value of their Syft solutions. Working closely with customers and global support teams, you will solve complex technical challenges, optimise system performance, and contribute directly to customer success.

- Represent Syft professionally while delivering exceptional customer experiences.
- Partner with customers to maximise the performance and value of their SIFT-MS instruments.
- Deliver technical support, training, installations, preventative maintenance, and repairs.
- Build trusted customer relationships by understanding operational needs and providing practical technical solutions.
- Collaborate with global teams to improve service delivery, product performance, and customer outcomes.
- Contribute to SOPs, technical resources, and continuous improvement initiatives.
What you will bring
Essential
- Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Science, or a related technical field.
- 1–2 years'''' field service experience.
- Hands-on experience with scientific or diagnostic instrumentation.
- A multidisciplinary technical skillset spanning mechanical, electrical, software, or scientific disciplines.
- Experience partnering directly with customers and delivering successful technical outcomes.
- Experience working in regulated environments and service operations.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate across multiple time zones.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of Mass Spectrometry and/or semiconductor manufacturing.
- Experience with coding, software, or firmware environments.
- Experience working with electronics.
Where you will work
This is a remote role based in the San Francisco Bay Area, California. Regular travel to customer sites throughout California and across the USA is required, with opportunities to collaborate with colleagues globally and occasionally visit our offices in Europe, Asia, or New Zealand.
