Russell Tobin is partnering with a leading global retail enterprise to hire an experienced Enterprise Architect – Marketing to join their Enterprise Architecture team within the CTO organization. This is a high-impact, contingent opportunity supporting the evolution of a large-scale MarTech ecosystem aligned to an enterprise-wide Connected Commerce strategy.
This role requires a hands-on, strategic architect who brings deep expertise in composable MarTech architecture, AI-driven marketing capabilities, and modern integration patterns — with the ability to contribute immediately within an established architecture practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess the current MarTech landscape and identify gaps, redundancies, and modernization opportunities across CDP, CRM, Loyalty, Campaign Orchestration, and Paid Media platforms.
- Develop architecture blueprints and capability roadmaps that align MarTech investments to measurable business outcomes.
- Provide leadership on composable MarTech patterns, API-first integrations, and end-to-end marketing data flow design.
- Advise on AI-powered marketing use cases including predictive segmentation, next-best-action, personalization, and content automation.
- Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Engineering, and Data teams to evaluate vendors, define integration standards, and support platform decisions.
- Contribute to architecture governance, reviews, and platform consolidation initiatives.
- Produce high-quality documentation including architecture diagrams, decision frameworks, and executive-ready recommendations.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in MarTech or digital marketing architecture.
- Deep hands-on experience across:
- Customer Data Platforms (CDPs) and Identity Resolution
- CRM, Loyalty, and Lifecycle Marketing platforms
- Campaign Orchestration tools (Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Adobe, Braze, Zeta, etc.)
- Paid Media ecosystems (DSPs, Clean Rooms, Audience Management, Attribution)
- Content Management, DAM, and Content Supply Chain platforms
- Strong expertise in cloud-native, API-first, and event-driven integration patterns.
- Experience applying AI/ML within marketing (personalization, propensity modeling, audience intelligence).
- Retail, CPG, or direct-to-consumer brand experience strongly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Agentic AI or LLM-driven marketing automation use cases.
- Knowledge of marketing measurement frameworks (MMM, MTA, incrementality testing).
- Familiarity with composable MarTech and MACH architecture principles.
