Position Summary
Our client is seeking a Repair Technician to support operations at its North American repair and refurbishment manufacturing center focused on Digital Video Recorder (DVR) systems and related peripherals. This role is responsible for hands-on physical repair work and advanced, component-level troubleshooting that goes beyond standard bench repair procedures. Strong PCB-level rework capability is required, along with an active IPC soldering certification prior to starting.

What This Role Will Do
Perform component-level repair on PCBAs and related subassemblies
Replace, rework, and reflow components using advanced soldering methods, including SMD, BGA, and micro-soldering techniques
Read and apply information from schematics, engineering documentation, and inspection/diagnostic reports
Partner with Engineering and Customer Service to ensure repairs meet quality expectations
Record repair actions, findings, and recommendations (including replacement guidance when applicable)
Use SAP to log defects, track repair activity, and support issue resolution workflows

Required Qualifications
2+ years of recent, progressively responsible experience performing electronic component-level repairs
Demonstrated experience with digital electronics (microcontrollers, memory, FPGAs, low-power signals)
Advanced soldering and rework experience in a manufacturing/production setting
Working knowledge of ESD standards and safe electronics handling practices
Valid IPC certification prior to start (example: IPC J-STD-001 and/or IPC-7711/7721)

Education
High school diploma or GED (required)
Associate degree or higher in a related technical discipline (preferred)
