Backend Engineer

W2 Contract-to-Hire

Pay Rate: $70 - $80 per hour

Location: Dublin, CA - Hybrid Role

Job Summary:

Owns backend modernization, including business logic, APIs, and integration using AI-assisted artifacts.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop Spring Boot services from reverse-engineered artifacts (entity, module, validations)

Translate business rules and functional specs into scalable backend services

Design and implement REST APIs based on OpenAPI specs

Handle data modeling, transactions, and validations

Integrate with databases (Oracle or similar)

Use Copilot to accelerate code generation and refactoring

Implement unit and integration testing

Collaborate with frontend and DevOps for deployment readiness

Requirements and Qualifications:

Strong Java + Spring Boot experience

Experience in API design (REST/OpenAPI)

Strong understanding of data modeling and transactions

Experience in legacy modernization / re-platforming

Familiarity with AI-assisted development (Copilot)

Familiarity with Azure Experience

Exposure to RAG / Vector DB / Agentic systems (good to have, not mandatory)
