JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

Position Summary:

Our hyperscale client is seeking an experienced MEP Construction Manager to oversee the execution of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) scopes for large-scale data center construction projects. This role is responsible for driving field execution, contractor coordination, quality, schedule, commissioning readiness, and overall project delivery while partnering with cross-functional engineering, commissioning, and operations teams.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead onsite execution of MEP construction activities across hyperscale data center projects.
  • Manage General Contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and vendors to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
  • Coordinate mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and controls contractors throughout all phases of construction.
  • Conduct quality inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications, building codes, and client standards.
  • Drive schedule adherence by identifying risks, mitigating delays, and coordinating recovery plans.
  • Partner with commissioning teams to ensure successful turnover of mission-critical infrastructure.
  • Track project progress, budgets, KPIs, and issue resolution while providing regular status updates to stakeholders.
  • Lead construction meetings and coordinate activities between design, engineering, operations, and construction teams.
  • Promote a culture of safety while enforcing OSHA and site-specific safety requirements.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of construction management experience.
  • Recent hyperscale data center experience is required.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Mechanical systems (HVAC, chilled water, CRAH/CRAC)
    • Electrical systems (MV/LV distribution, UPS, generators)
    • Plumbing and fire protection systems
  • Experience managing General Contractors and multiple subcontractors.
  • Experience supporting commissioning and project turnover.
  • Strong understanding of construction scheduling, QA/QC, budgeting, and risk management.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
