QA Lead

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a QA Lead in Fort Wayne, IN.

Summary:
We're hiring an experienced QA Lead to lead testing efforts across complex, business-critical applications and technology initiatives. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can own QA delivery from planning through release while providing direction to both onshore and offshore testing resources. The ideal candidate combines strong QA fundamentals with leadership, organization, and the ability to work cross-functionally with business and technology teams.

What You'll Do:
* Own QA strategy, planning, execution, defect management, and release support for assigned initiatives
* Lead and coordinate onshore and offshore QA resources, including priorities, workloads, timelines, and deliverables
* Develop and review functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end test plans and test cases
* Perform hands-on testing while providing day-to-day leadership to QA analysts
* Establish and track QA KPIs and testing metrics, providing clear visibility into progress, quality, risks, and defects
* Partner with Business Analysts, developers, architects, project managers, and business stakeholders to ensure requirements are testable and appropriately covered
* Coordinate test environments, test data, dependencies, and other testing prerequisites
* Lead defect triage, retesting, and resolution tracking
* Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and proactively identify testing risks and dependencies
* Mentor QA team members and help establish consistent testing standards and best practices
* Provide clear, evidence-based recommendations around release readiness and residual risk
* Coordinate with third-party vendors and understand expectations related to contracts, scope, responsibilities, and delivery

REQUIREMENTS:
* 5+ years of software QA experience
* 2+ years leading testing activities or QA teams
* Experience managing or coordinating offshore testing teams across multiple time zones
* Experience developing and managing QA KPIs, metrics, and reporting
* Experience with Azure DevOps, Jira, or comparable testing/defect management tools
* Strong background in test planning, execution, defect management, and release validation
* Working knowledge of SQL, API testing, and data validation
* Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum and the software development lifecycle
* Strong communication, leadership, facilitation, and risk-management skills
* Ability to translate business requirements and acceptance criteria into effective test coverage

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
