Position Summary
The Intersect Group is seeking a Staff Accountant to support a growing finance and accounting team. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end and year-end close activities, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and reporting requirements.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in general accounting, financial analysis, and reconciliations while demonstrating the ability to identify issues, research variances, and recommend solutions. This position offers broad exposure across multiple accounting functions and the opportunity to contribute to process improvements and ongoing financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, and account adjustments in accordance with accounting principles and company policies.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations, including intercompany accounts, and maintain supporting documentation within reconciliation tools such as FloQast.
- Research and resolve out-of-balance conditions, providing corrective actions and root-cause analysis.
- Support month-end and year-end close activities to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare, review, and upload financial results into corporate reporting platforms, including OneStream or similar systems.
- Generate and analyze accounts receivable aging reports and cash performance updates.
- Assist with sales reporting, forecasting activities, sales tax filings, and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Support internal and external audit requests while helping maintain and strengthen internal controls.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor''s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3+ years of full-cycle accounting experience with a strong understanding of general accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Experience preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and supporting month-end close processes.
- Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis functions.
- Experience working with ERP and financial reporting systems; exposure to OneStream, JDE, or similar platforms preferred.
- Familiarity with account reconciliation software such as FloQast and experience supporting audit activities.
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA, cost accounting, fixed assets, accounts receivable, or system implementations is a plus.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and interact with internal and external stakeholders.
