Description:

Position Summary The Payroll Operations & Workday Support Analyst is responsible for supporting payroll operations through Workday system execution, payroll reporting and data extracts, compliance and control support, and operational issue resolution. This role partners closely with Accounting, HR, Legal, Tax, Technology, and external vendors to ensure payroll accuracy, regulatory compliance, and effective daytoday operations. The position is handson and executionfocused, supporting recurring payroll cycles, audits, yearend activities, and adhoc operational needs critical to business continuity. Key Responsibilities 1. Workday Configuration & Production Support Support approved configuration changes in Workday Production related to payroll, time tracking, taxation, pay slips, and schedules, following established governance and change approval processes. Participate in review and validation of payrollrelated Workday design changes, releases, and defect remediation. Provide operational input on payroll and time configuration impacts and sequencing of changes. Serve as a payroll point of contact in problemsolve discussions with HR, Technology, and external partners. 2. Payroll Reporting & Data Management Produce standard and adhoc payroll reports, including employee population data, compensation summaries, taxrelated extracts, and yearend support files. Prepare officer compensation summaries and other payroll data required for corporate tax filings and financial reporting. Support legal, tax, and compliance initiatives by generating employee and payroll data (e.g., worker classification, work and tax location). Maintain documentation, inventories, or trackers related to payroll reports, testing status, and data delivery. 3. Compliance, Controls & Audit Support Support payroll control activities, including walkthroughs, issue investigation, and documentation for internal and external audits. Assist with responses to payrollrelated compliance inquiries, regulatory reporting questions, and risk management reviews. Provide clear explanations of payroll and time processing logic in Workday to internal stakeholders when issues or escalations arise. Partner with Payroll and Accounting leadership to identify control gaps, operational risks, and remediation actions. 4. Payroll & Time Processing Execute regular payroll and timetracking processes in Workday, including mass submit, mass approval, overtime handling, and exception processing. Support biweekly payroll cycles, offcycle processing as needed, and yearend payroll execution activities. Assist with resolution of time reporting issues related to holidays, work schedules, shifts, and manager approvals. Ensure payroll processing adheres to established payroll calendars, documented procedures, and internal control requirements. 5. CrossFunctional Collaboration Work closely with Accounting leadership, Payroll managers, HR teams, Legal, Tax, Technology partners, and external vendors (e.g., ADP, PwC). Communicate clearly and professionally in multistakeholder settings regarding payroll timing, data requirements, issues, and resolutions. Contribute to payroll process improvement discussions, operational readiness activities, and knowledge transfer efforts. Required Qualifications Prior experience supporting payroll operations and/or time tracking in an HRIS environment. Handson experience with Workday Payroll and/or Workday Time Tracking. Strong understanding of payroll data, internal controls, and compliance considerations. Experience producing payroll reports and working with employeelevel compensation and time data. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple operational priorities. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting payroll operations within a large, regulated organization. Exposure to payroll compliance, audit, or regulatory reporting activities. Familiarity with payroll tax concepts and multistate payroll considerations. Experience working with external payroll vendors and consulting partners. Advanced Excel or payroll data analysis skills.
