Job Description
As a Security Analyst, you will play a critical role in safeguarding our client's enterprise infrastructure and protecting sensitive data assets. This position offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of cybersecurity, data analysis, and emerging technologies, making a direct impact on the security posture of a widely-used platform.
In your day-to-day work, you'll conduct comprehensive security assessments, monitor threat landscapes, and develop data-driven strategies to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities before they become incidents. You'll leverage your technical expertise in SQL, Python, and data visualization to analyze security metrics, investigate anomalies, and communicate findings to cross-functional stakeholders. This role exists to strengthen the organization's defenses against evolving cyber threats while ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
You'll collaborate closely with IT teams, engineering groups, and business stakeholders, reporting to the security leadership team. The ideal candidate is passionate about cybersecurity, enjoys working with data and emerging technologies like LLMs, and thrives in fast-paced environments where independent problem-solving and proactive threat hunting are essential.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of enterprise environments to identify security vulnerabilities and risk factors
- Monitor system logs, network traffic, and security alerts to detect and respond to potential threats in real-time
- Research emerging security threats and collect data to develop proactive defense strategies
- Configure, analyze, and optimize security tools and software to enhance protection of company assets
- Document and prioritize security incidents, threats, and key performance metrics for leadership review
- Lead system update and patching initiatives to maintain current security standards and minimize downtime
- Investigate security breaches and document findings, following established remediation protocols
- Collaborate with IT teams and end users to implement security measures with minimal business disruption
- Communicate security risks, incident reports, and mitigation strategies to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Analyze security data using SQL, Python, and visualization tools to identify trends and vulnerabilities
- Develop and maintain security documentation, playbooks, and standard operating procedures
Required Experience/Skills
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in information security, cybersecurity, or related technical roles
- Strong proficiency in SQL for data querying and analysis
- Advanced Python skills for security scripting and automation
- Experience with LLM notebooks and AI-driven analysis tools
- Proficiency with data visualization tools for security metrics and reporting
- Background in statistics or data-driven analysis methodologies
- Deep understanding of computer networking, system vulnerabilities, and threat detection techniques
- Excellent multitasking abilities and superior problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail with ability to identify subtle security anomalies
- Self-starter with demonstrated ability to work independently in fast-paced environments
- Effective communication skills for both technical and executive stakeholder engagement
- Technical orientation with passion for staying current on security technologies and methodologies
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with automation or AI-driven security analysis and threat intelligence platforms
- Knowledge of modern security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, or MITRE ATT&CK
- Familiarity with cloud security practices and tools (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Previous experience in SaaS or enterprise technology environments
- Industry certifications such as CISSP, CEH, Security+, or equivalent
- Experience with SIEM platforms and security orchestration tools
- Background in financial technology or regulated industries
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Statistics, or related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.
Pay & Benefits Summary
- Up to $54/hr W2
