Our client, a leader in FinTech, is seeking a contract (to potential hire) Product Delivery Manager. This is a hybrid role (Tue-Thu onsite) in San Francisco, CA
As a Senior Product Delivery Manager, you will drive coordinated, transparent delivery of product initiatives across an assigned product portfolio. You'll operate at the portfolio and initiative level, ensuring cross-functional alignment between Product, Design, Engineering, Operations, and Business stakeholders while enabling empowered product teams to deliver meaningful value for our members.
You will partner closely with Product Managers, Engineering Leaders, Design, Business Partners, and Product Operations to facilitate portfolio-level planning, manage cross-team dependencies, provide portfolio visibility, and ensure delivery health. Together, you'll help advance company mission to help members keep more of what they earn and improve their financial health. This position reports to the VP of Product.
Required skills and experience: - 8+ years of program management, delivery management, or product operations experience, with at least 3 years managing cross-functional initiatives at scale
- Strong background in data
- Demonstrated experience coordinating work across Product, Engineering, Design, Operations, and Business stakeholders
- Experience in modern product development environments (Agile, Lean, continuous delivery)
- Bachelor's degree in a related field; or equivalent work experience

- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Technical understanding sufficient to comprehend technical dependencies and trade-offs
- Understanding of product development lifecycle from discovery through launch
Daily Responsibilities: Portfolio Planning & Coordination - Support portfolio-level planning, quarterly planning, and roadmap-to-execution alignment across Product Managers and Engineering teams
- Help translate strategic objectives into clear delivery plans with defined milestones, dependencies, and sequencing
- Facilitate cross-team alignment during planning to surface resource conflicts, sequencing risks, and dependency challenges
- Coordinate capacity planning across the portfolio with guidance from Product Leaders
- Support quarterly planning ceremonies and retrospectives
Execution Management & Cross-Team Alignment - Coordinate cross-functional work at the portfolio level (not at the feature or task level)
- Coordinate work that spans multiple Product teams or Engineering teams, ensuring alignment on timing and integration points
- Maintain and communicate delivery status, progress updates, and initiative sequencing to stakeholders
- Organize delivery ceremonies as needed: milestone reviews, cross-team dependency check-ins
- Help ensure teams have clear priorities, resolved dependencies, and unblocked resources
Risk & Dependency Management - Identify and track risks, blockers, and cross-team dependencies that could impact portfolio delivery
- Facilitate resolution of resource conflicts, sequencing challenges, and dependency conflicts across teams
- Escalate issues requiring Portfolio Leader or executive decision-making with supporting data and analysis
- Coordinate with other PDMs when dependencies span multiple portfolios
- Maintain portfolio-level risk visibility for stakeholders
Communication & Portfolio Visibility - Provide transparent reporting on portfolio health to Portfolio Leaders and stakeholders
- Maintain portfolio dashboards showing initiative status, risks, dependencies, and milestone progress
- Communicate delivery status appropriately for different audiences: Product Managers, Engineering teams, Business Partners, and leadership
- Support leadership reviews and business reviews with portfolio health updates
- Surface risks proactively through clear, data-driven communication
Launch Coordination & Readiness - Coordinate launch planning activities across Product, Engineering, Operations, Marketing, Risk, and Compliance
- Work with Product Operations to track launch readiness requirements
- Support business partner readiness for launches, including tracking training, documentation, and operational preparedness
- Track launch milestones and criteria achievement across cross-functional workstreams
- Support go/no-go readiness assessments (while Product Manager owns the final go/no-go decision)
Process Improvement & Standards Adoption - Support retrospectives and process improvements at the portfolio level
- Help identify opportunities to improve planning, coordination, and delivery processes
- Provide feedback to Product Operations on Product Development Lifecycle (PDLC) effectiveness
- Adopt and evangelize Product Operations standards, templates, and tools within your portfolio
