Summary

About the Organization

Now is a great time to join Redhorse Corporation. We are a solution-driven company delivering data insights and technology solutions to customers with missions critical to U.S. national interests. We're looking for thoughtful, skilled professionals who thrive as trusted partners building technology-agnostic solutions and want to apply their talents supporting customers with difficult and important mission sets.

About the Role

Redhorse transforms the way government uses data and technology. To support this mission, we are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Naval Special Warfare (NSW) team. In this high-priority role, you will drive innovation for the Unmanned Systems (UxS) autonomy and interoperability program, directly impacting Special Operations Forces (SOF) mission profiles.

You will be at the forefront of integrating cutting-edge autonomous capabilities and AI/ML at the tactical edge. This is a unique opportunity to shape enterprise architecture and deliver Responsible AI (RAI) compliant software that meets the rigorous demands of rapid government deployment. If you want to see your code utilized in groundbreaking, real-world national security initiatives, this is the role for you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate actively in code reviews, deployments, and contribute to CI/CD and DevOps pipelines.
  • Design and develop software requirements for AI products, including software architectures, APIs, frameworks, and libraries.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive tests for new technologies and capabilities to integrate into the UxSAI program.
  • Collaboratively develop requirements for autonomous software and shape enterprise architecture.
  • Employ AI/ML at the tactical edge to support and enhance SOF operations.
  • Assess the performance, scalability, and security of proposed technologies within UxSAI architecture.
  • Maintain and guide the development of common libraries and tools across teams.
  • Formulate strategies for rapid prototyping of AI capabilities.

Required Experience/Clearance

  • Active Secret security clearance.
  • 8+ years of professional experience in software engineering.
  • At least 5 years of recent, hands-on software development experience.
  • Proven experience building and deploying software, specifically to edge capabilities.
  • Demonstrated expertise using industry-standard CI/CD and DevOps practices.
  • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Java, C++, Go, Rust).
  • Technical experience architecting and delivering complex software projects involving multiple modules, APIs, data integration, and algorithm stacks.
  • Experience in developing, modifying, or integrating software (including models and algorithms) at the enterprise level.

Desired Experience

  • Experience with technologies such as Databricks or Spark to analyze or train models using large datasets.
  • Recent software development experience building a Platform as a Service (PaaS).
  • Experience working with open-source computer vision libraries.
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
  • Experience developing with CUDA or Assembly.
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field.
