Summary
We are looking to onboard a Performance Engineer to lead the performance engineering strategy across platforms and application teams. This role goes beyond test execution and focuses on designing and building enterprise performance toolsets, while overseeing performance testing to ensure scalability, reliability, and responsiveness of applications to meet current and future demand.
Responsibilities
Serve as a central point of contact for performance testing best practices and governance.
Review current capabilities and analyze performance bottlenecks across applications, databases, APIs, and infrastructure.
Evaluate existing performance testing and monitoring capabilities.
Assess current performance testing toolsets and recommend new tools or frameworks.
Propose, pilot, and implement tools and frameworks to enhance scalability testing and performance visibility.
Define and verify SLA, SLO, and capacity benchmarks with Enterprise Architecture input.
Incorporate benchmarks into performance test executions.
Create and socialize a Performance Testing Intake Form for standard project initiation.
Consult with project teams and functional users to translate business needs into performance test requirements.
Define and design load models aligned with production traffic and future growth.
Identify infrastructure performance testing opportunities and integrate them into the framework.
Improve executions by implementing continuous performance testing across projects.
Integrate performance testing tools into CI/CD pipelines in collaboration with infrastructure teams.
Work closely with developers and product managers to identify performance improvement areas.
Define and manage the performance engineering strategy and roadmap.
Assess and report on project testing health metrics.
Share insights, lessons learned, and defect triage status.
Stay current with emerging performance testing technologies and recommend adoption.
Support teams in shifting toward a Test-Driven Development (TDD) approach.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Performance Engineer leading performance engineering strategy.
Strong hands-on experience with NeoLoad (primary) and JMeter.
Experience identifying and analyzing performance bottlenecks across:
Applications
Databases
APIs
Infrastructure
Demonstrated ability to assess, recommend, and implement performance testing tools and frameworks.
Experience defining and validating SLAs, SLOs, and capacity benchmarks.
Ability to translate business and technical requirements into performance test strategies.
Experience implementing continuous performance testing processes.
Hands-on experience integrating performance tools with CI/CD pipelines.
Strong understanding of application architecture and enterprise priorities.
Ability to provide fast, actionable feedback while balancing team priorities and governance standards.
