Pay Rate: $53.00/hour - $56/hour
Employment Type: 12 Months Contract
Role Overview
This role will support a technology team's transformation project, focusing on updating legacy technology by converting manual processes to automated ones. The Automation Engineer will supplement the efforts of core team members by developing and implementing automated features.
Key Responsibilities
- Consult on and participate in moderately complex initiatives within Software Engineering.
- Analyze user and business requirements and translate them into technical design specifications.
- Develop and debug automation solutions, with hands-on experience in CA7 scheduler job automation.
- Work with Hogan mainframe systems, including CIS, Umbrella, and Deposits.
- Create JCLs and utilize COBOL, REXX, and SORT utilities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including analysts, testers, and operations, throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, bugs, and production incidents.
- Work with DB2, IMS, and SQL.
Required Qualifications
Experience: 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work or consulting experience, training, military experience, or education.
Technical Skills:- Hands-on experience with CA7 scheduler job automation and independent debugging.
- Working experience with Hogan mainframe systems (CIS, Umbrella, Deposits).
- Proficiency in creating JCLs and using COBOL.
- Experience with REXX and SORT utilities.
- Knowledge of DB2, IMS, and SQL.
Preferred Qualifications
- IT Project Management experience or skills.
- Ability to work effectively at an enterprise level.
