This position is a member of our Program Support & Environmental Assistance Division (PSEAD).

HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
  • Assist with monitoring the data flows of compliance monitoring and enforcement information to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Participate in discussions with EPA related to data flows and reporting requirements.
  • Assist in the gathering, analysis, and reporting of investigation compliance and enforcement information related to the Office of Compliance and Enforcement (OCE), and the Legislative Budget Board (LBB) performance measures.
  • Provide support to the OCE management for ad hoc data queries related to Incidents, Investigations, and Enforcement as requested. Prepare data reports in response to complaints and Public Information Requests (PIRs).
  • Support the Information Resources Division (IRD) in software development and management projects related to OCE. Participate on project teams.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to OCE staff in the central office and in regional offices relating to investigation and data management functions; communicate with customers, coworkers, management, and consultants to gather and disseminate information.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience working with relational database design and maintenance/support.
  • Experience using Crystal Reports and/or Business Objects Enterprise.
  • Experience in data management, data summarization, data validation and quality assurance, and/or data modeling.
  • Experience working with Oracle Databases and/or Microsoft Access Databases.
  • Experience writing SQL queries.
  • Experience working with Power BI, Power Automate, Java, and /or SharePoint.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Two years of fulltime experience in systems administration, business process analysis and modeling, application development, or system and application design.

OR

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, or technical college with a major in computer science, computer information systems, management information systems, mathematics or a related field.

OR

Completion of 18 semester hours (27 quarter hours) in computer science, computer information systems, management information systems, mathematics or a related field plus one year of the required experience.

Employees in this classification series may research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure, including but not limited to a communication infrastructure system, cybersecurity system, electric grid, hazardous waste treatment system, or water treatment facility. See Tex. Business & Commerce Code Section 117.001(2). Accordingly, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure is a requirement to be hired for and to continue to be employed with TCEQ.
