Position Overview We are seeking an analytical and collaborative
Associate IT Solution Engineer to join our technology team. In this role, you will assist senior engineers and architects in designing, planning, and delivering comprehensive technology platform solutions that align business requirements with IT capabilities. This position is ideal for a proactive technology professional eager to contribute across the entire project lifecycle-from early-phase business case estimation through design, build, test, and deployment.
Key Responsibilities- Solution Design & Implementation: Assist in creating comprehensive technology platform solution designs and developing implementation approaches using established IT standards and operational options.
- Collaboration & Cross-Functional Alignment: Partner with domain-specific engineers, architects, product specialists, and technologists to ensure physical designs match logical blueprints and that integrated components meet performance goals.
- Project Lifecycle Support: Support buy-versus-build decisions, analyze business requirements impacts, refine early-phase project estimates, and provide ongoing guidance throughout planning, analysis, design, build, test, and deployment phases.
- Standards & Reuse: Promote the development and reuse of common technical solutions, components, and services across enterprise initiatives.
Required Qualifications- Associate's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Foundational exposure to IT engineering design, technical project implementation, or IT project management.
- Strong desire and ability to rapidly learn core utility business areas, process design, information modeling, and system architecture.
- Familiarity with process improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma) applied to technology-supported business processes.
- Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or other relevant technical certifications.
- Direct experience within the utility or energy sector.
Location & Logistics- Work Arrangement: Remote with onsite presence on an as-needed basis.
- Travel Requirements: Occasional travel within one business day (up to 3 hours each way).
- Candidate Requirement: Must be local to the region.
