As a Senior DevSecOps Engineer for the Advanced Development Programs (ADP) Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) Functional Domain, you will advance and execute DevSecOps practices, driving the adoption of reliable, secure, and efficient software delivery workflows across complex systems.

This role offers the chance to make an immediate impact with your creativity and ideas. If you are passionate, enjoy pushing boundaries, and thinking outside the box, this opportunity in Skunk Works is for you.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Develop, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for building, testing, containerizing, and deploying application code, ensuring workflows are reliable, automated, and optimized for efficiency and security.

WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU

Work at the forefront of modern software delivery, contributing to CI/CD pipelines that support mission-critical systems. Gain deep experience across the software lifecycle, including build/test automation, deployment, and operational support, while applying advanced DevSecOps practices.

Collaborate with software, hardware, systems, and security engineers in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. Expand your technical expertise in DevSecOps, Software Engineering, and System Integration while supporting multiple programs and platforms and making a measurable impact on software delivery reliability and efficiency.

YOUR IMPACT

Your contributions will improve the speed, reliability, and integration of software delivery across complex systems, including hardware-integrated systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, test, and maintain CI/CD pipelines supporting build, integration, deployment, and validation in GitLab CI and related environments, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security.
  • Create scripts and automation to integrate hardware/software workflows across lab and hybrid environments, improving efficiency and repeatability.
  • Work closely with software, systems, hardware, and security engineers to implement pipelines that meet program and security requirements while optimizing performance.
  • Contribute to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Ansible or similar tools to enable repeatable, consistent deployments across hybrid environments.
  • Automate testing, integration, and delivery processes to enhance software quality, reliability, and deployment efficiency.
  • Integrate containerization and virtualization tools (e.g., Kubernetes, Podman) into development workflows to streamline application deployment and scalability.
  • Develop monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting solutions to provide visibility and improve pipeline performance.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to adopt DevSecOps best practices and continuously improve software delivery processes and strategies.

Travel up to 10% may be required.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in software development with a focus on DevOps
  • Experience building, maintaining, and automating CI/CD pipelines with GitLab CI/CD
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Podman, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with Linux-based development environments
  • Strong scripting and/or programming skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell)

This position is located at a facility that requires special access and a Secret clearance updated within the last 6 years to be considered.

Desired skills

  • Experience in non-traditional DevOps environments, such as lab systems, embedded systems, or hardware-integrated platforms
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Ansible or similar tools
  • Experience with package management tools like Conan for multi-platform software projects
  • Basic proficiency with monitoring and observability tools, such as Grafana, to improve visibility and reliability
  • Experience using Agile software development tools and practices (e.g., Git, JIRA, Confluence, CI/CD platforms)
  • Understanding of build systems and compilers (e.g., CMake, Make, Gradle) and their role in automated pipelines
  • Familiarity with software and system integration testing and validation practices
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including software, hardware, and systems engineering
  • Current Security+ certification or willingness to obtain
  • Active Secret security clearance
