Summary

Position Overview We are seeking an analytical and collaborative Engineering Applications & Tools Specialist to join our Electric Operations Information Technology team. In this role, you will work within a cross-functional group of stakeholders to deploy, support, and improve the engineering applications and software systems utilized by our electric distribution and transmission operations teams. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong technical foundation in CAD and business systems who thrives in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Support & Administration: Provide day-to-day support and handle moderate user issues for supported engineering systems and tools, escalating complex problems as needed. Learn to administrate platforms like ProjectWise and Autodesk vertical software (e.g., AUD, Plant 3D).
  • Process Analysis & Requirements: Collaborate with team members and business stakeholders to analyze and document business processes, information needs, and project requirements.
  • Testing & Quality Assurance: Lead and participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT), perform quality reviews of test results, and support enhancement deployments.
  • Collaboration & Governance: Partner with LEAN coaches, project managers, and multi-disciplinary teams to drive operational efficiencies, support change management, and contribute to solution development.

Required Qualifications
  • Intermediate understanding of AutoCAD software, functionality, and best practices.
  • Associate's degree (AA/AS) in Business, Engineering, Computer Science/Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of job-related experience in Business, IT, or Engineering fields.
  • Proven experience participating in projects of medium complexity.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively across team boundaries.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Business, Engineering, Computer Science/Information Systems, or equivalent.
  • Experience in technology or system deployments specifically for utility operations.
  • Familiarity with change management processes and LEAN methodologies.
  • Advanced PC skills, including broad proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and specialized engineering tools.
