Summary

Position Title: Senior BI Developer
Work Location: Los Angeles, CA (Hybrid)

Type of Employment: Full time

Role Overview:

The purpose of this position is to lead the design, development, and delivery of advanced analytics and financial reporting solutions using Power BI and MicroStrategy. The role exists to provide strong technical leadership, ensure high quality BI solutions, and enable data driven decision-making across the CPG and Financial Reporting domains. By working closely with finance and business stakeholders, this position ensures that complex data is transformed into meaningful insights that support strategic, operational, and financial objectives.

Key Result Areas and Activities:

Lead and deliver BI reporting solutions using Power BI and Strategy.
Own end to end Power BI development (data models, DAX, datasets, dashboards, performance tuning).
Develop and support Strategy (MicroStrategy) reports and dashboards.
Partner with FP&A and finance teams to define KPIs, metrics, and reporting requirements.
Ensure alignment with standardized financial and revenue data models.
Drive best practices for data accuracy, validation, security, and governance.
Provide technical leadership and guidance to onshore/offshore teams.

Must-Haves:

8+ years in BI / Analytics / Reporting, with strong hands-on delivery.
Deep expertise in Power BI and DAX.
Strong experience with Strategy (MicroStrategy).
Solid understanding of data warehousing and analytics architectures.
Proven experience in CPG and Financial Reporting / FP&A domains.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work onsite in LA at least 3 days per week.

Good to haves:

Experience migrating or modernizing Strategy to Power BI.
Exposure to cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake).
Background in retail, consumer products, or media adjacent environments.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, Analytics, Finance, or a related field (master's degree is a plus).
Demonstrated continued learning through BI/analytics certifications (Power BI, MicroStrategy, or related tools).
At least 8+ years of experience in BI/Analytics/Reporting, with strong hands-on delivery in enterprise environments.
Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience with Power BI, including data modeling, DAX, datasets, and dashboard development.
Strong experience working with MicroStrategy (Strategy) for reporting and analytics.
