Werner Consulting Group LLC (WCG) is a Denver based IT consulting and placement firm. We have a client based out of Denver looking for a full remote Instructional Designer to join the team as a contractor. This person can work from anywhere in the USA. Position is set for 6 months initially but could easily extend beyond that. A portfolio of your work will be requested for client review.
The Sr. Instructional Designer (ID) is a key role within company s IT Learning & Development team. The Sr. Designer works collaboratively with business leaders, subject matter experts (SMEs), key stakeholders, program owners, and other learning professionals to design and develop innovative learning solutions that leverage a combination of learning modalities to maximize the learner experience, learning effectiveness, and business impact. The Sr. ID leverages instructional design techniques to author in-person, virtual, and eLearning content. This position uses their expertise to create original content. This position provides consultation on adult learning best practices and mentors junior designers in content design and development.
Partners with Program Owners & Business Leaders to select best learning modalities and design technical and professional learning solutions that drive capability development and business outcomes.
Develops medium to high complexity learning experiences (ex: instructor-led training sessions (ILT & VILT), eLearning, performance support, video etc.) to address required capability gaps.
Provide consultation to learning teams on best practices for creating learning experiences and leveraging common standards & templates.
Advanced proficiency with eLearning and/or video development software applications (e.g., Captivate, Camtasia, Articulate 360 etc.) |
Advanced Proficiency with graphic design, animation and/or audio recording tools (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, Audacity, Audition etc.) |
Instructional design including eLearning design and development, needs assessment, working with stakeholders. |
Demonstrated experience using adult learning theory and methodologies to design and develop training. |
Solid and rigorous project management skills including planning work, managing details, and keeping multiple tasks/projects on track. |
Experience working on virtual teams. |
Excellent written and verbal communication skills |

Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Outlook |
