Position: Finance Testing Lead / Senior Finance Testing Analyst
Location: Dallas, TX (locals preferred)
Duration: 12 months
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Finance Testing Lead / Senior Finance Testing Analyst to support a large-scale Financial Shared Services (FSS) transformation program. This role will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing end-to-end testing across Finance processes, systems, data, integrations, and reporting.
The ideal candidate will have strong Finance functional knowledge combined with hands-on testing experience and the ability to work across business, Finance, technology, data, and implementation teams in a complex transformation environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate Finance testing activities across FSS transformation workstreams.
- Develop the overall Finance testing strategy, approach, scope, test scenarios, test cases, and execution plans.
- Translate Finance business requirements and future-state processes into comprehensive test scenarios.
- Coordinate testing across Finance processes including:
- General Ledger
- Accounts Payable
- Accounts Receivable
- Fixed Assets
- Record-to-Report
- Financial Close
- Intercompany
- Management and statutory reporting
- Execute and/or coordinate SIT, UAT, regression, integration, end-to-end, and production validation testing.
- Validate Finance transactions across upstream and downstream systems, including ERP, data platforms, integrations, workflow, and reporting solutions.
- Perform end-to-end business process validation, ensuring transactions flow correctly across systems and organizational boundaries.
- Validate Finance data, reconciliations, balances, master data, controls, and reporting outputs.
- Partner with Finance SMEs, Business Process Owners, IT teams, developers, data teams, integration teams, and external implementation partners.
- Manage test defects through identification, documentation, prioritization, root-cause analysis, resolution, and retesting.
- Track testing progress, defects, risks, dependencies, and readiness metrics and provide regular status reporting to program leadership.
- Coordinate test environments, test data, data refreshes, and testing prerequisites.
- Ensure adequate coverage of positive, negative, exception, control, and edge-case scenarios.
- Support cutover, mock conversion, migration validation, and post-go-live testing activities.
- Validate that transformed processes meet defined business requirements and FSS operating-model objectives.
- Support audit and controls testing where Finance transformation impacts financial controls or compliance requirements.
Required Experience
- 7+ years of Finance systems, Finance transformation, or testing experience, with significant experience supporting large-scale transformation programs.
- Strong understanding of Finance and FSS processes, particularly R2R, AP, AR, GL, Fixed Assets, and Financial Close.
- Demonstrated experience developing and executing end-to-end Finance testing strategies.
- Hands-on experience with SIT, UAT, integration testing, regression testing, and end-to-end business process testing.
- Strong experience working with SAP Finance
- Experience validating integrations between ERP, data platforms, reporting tools, and other enterprise applications.
- Strong understanding of Finance data validation, reconciliation, and financial reporting.
- Experience managing defects using tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, ALM, or similar platforms.
- Ability to work effectively in a complex, global, matrixed environment with multiple business units and stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work with both Finance business users and technical teams.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with SAP Finance ECC
- Experience with Finance data migration and conversion testing.
- Experience testing Power BI or other Finance reporting/analytics solutions.
- Experience validating automated workflows, RPA, AI-enabled Finance processes, or other digital transformation solutions.
- Experience with Finance controls, SOX, audit requirements, and control testing.
- Experience working with global Finance organizations and multiple legal entities.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is not just a QA tester. They should be a strong Finance functional professional who understands how Finance processes work end-to-end and can determine whether a transformed process is working from a business and financial perspective.
They should be comfortable challenging test results, identifying gaps in requirements or process design, tracing issues across multiple systems, and working with both Finance and technology teams to drive resolution.
