Job Title: Sr. Data Engineer
Location: New York, NY / Dallas, TX / Rockville, MD / Miami, FL (Hybrid)

Job Summary:
Senior Data Engineer to help design, build, mature, and scale our data platform and infrastructure supporting front office, middle office, operations, accounting, and other firm functions. This is a hands-on role focused on data warehouse capabilities, integrations, reporting, and platform engineering in close collaboration with infrastructure, engineering, desktop support, and other members of the business applications/data team. Work begins with foundational capabilities and progresses to more advanced features over time.
Responsibilities
- Data Management & Reporting
- Design additional capabilities for the Client's data warehouses, including the usage of Large Language Models, Machine Learning automation and integration of unstructured data
- Build and maintain data pipelines, ETL processes, and integrations across firm systems (including market data, MCP/SharePoint, portfolio data)
- Ensure data quality, freshness, and reliability for reporting and analytics
- Leverage APIs, MCPs and web services calls to load and extract data out of 3rd party systems
- Provide Data Analysis and ad-hoc reporting packs for front-office and middle-office users
- Product Implementation and Development
- Translate business requirements into technical designs and own projects through testing and adoption
- Principal technical business analyst and developer on one or more Core systems implementation
- Support multiple simultaneous time-sensitive projects (e.g. implementation of SaaS products, automation of manual workflows, data warehousing, etc.) with strong prioritization
- Ensure a high standard of SLDC with focus on automated testing/regressions.
- Align and contribute to the culture and overall vision/mission of the team.
- Operations
- Ensure the operational stability of data pipelines (including APIs and MCP servers) and downstream reporting
- Create automation of routine tasks (using Copilot Studio, Power Automate, and similar tools)
- Provide L2 support for provisioned applications
- Ensure the operational stability of data pipelines and reporting
- Maintain robust systems documentation
- Technology Responsibilities
- Stay abreast of technical best practices and new tools
- Execute on Major Incident & Crisis Management Processes during unexpected issues
- Assisting with other core technology projects as needed
Qualifications
- 8+ years of hands-on data engineering experience working on enterprise financial technology implementations, financial data warehouse technology, custom workflow and reports development, and data integrations ideally in Private Credit domain
- Strong data engineering tooling (Snowflake/Azure/Microsoft SQL, Pyton, dbt, ETL, data warehousing)
- Experience integrating complex external data sources (MCP, SharePoint, market data platforms like Bloomberg, Refinitiv) via RESTful APIs or MCPs
- Experience building semantic layers and reporting framework for business-facing dashboards/reports with Reporting & Business Intelligence technologies (e.g. Sigma Computing, PowerBI, Tableau, Google Looker)
- Advanced knowledge of Data warehouse technologies (e.g. Snowflake, Databricks, Amazon Redshift, Azure Data) and associated tooling preferred
- Strongly preferred experience:
- Familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs) or Machine Learning automation in data workflows
- Azure ecosystem (Functions/Apps, API Management, Entra ID OAuth)
- Semantic layer / ontology design or RAG grounding for enterprise data
- Preferred Experience:
- Experience implementing or configuring Portfolio Management / Order Management / Investment Book of Record Accounting systems
- Experience configuring and deploying Large Language Models (LLMs) and Artificial Intelligence Machine Learning (AI/ML) technologies preferred
- Experience working with Cloud tools (Azure or similar)
- Regulated finance or equivalent audit, compliance, and risk management mindset
- Working knowledge of alternative investments (Credit / PE) Asset classes and investment lifecycle
- Familiarity with Market Data platforms (Bloomberg, S&P Markit, Refinitiv, Pitchbook, Preqin)
- Bachelor or Master s Degree in relevant technical field
