Job Description – Cloud Expert Solution Architect(Solution Design)

Location: Quincy, MA or Princeton, NJ (Hybrid – 3 days/week onsite)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Expert Solution Architect – Solution Design to lead the architecture, planning, and execution of enterprise cloud migration and modernization initiatives across AWS and Microsoft Azure. This role is responsible for designing target-state cloud architectures, developing migration strategies, and providing technical leadership throughout the migration lifecycle—from discovery and assessment through migration, cutover, and post-production stabilization.

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in cloud architecture, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), application modernization, security, governance, and DevOps practices. Working closely with client stakeholders, application owners, infrastructure teams, and project leadership, you will ensure migration solutions are scalable, secure, compliant, and aligned with business objectives while minimizing operational disruption.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Architecture & Migration Strategy

· Design enterprise Target State Architectures (TSA) for AWS and Azure migration programs.

· Lead application discovery, dependency mapping, infrastructure assessments, and workload analysis.

· Develop migration strategies, application migration waves, roadmaps, runbooks, cutover plans, and rollback procedures.

· Produce architecture documentation, including logical and physical diagrams, network topology, Bill of Materials (BOM), hosting configurations, and security design.

· Conduct architecture reviews, technical workshops, and migration planning sessions with client stakeholders.

Cloud Architecture & Modernization

· Design and implement cloud infrastructure using AWS and Azure IaaS and PaaS services, including compute, networking, storage, databases, API services, and managed platform offerings.

· Provision infrastructure using Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep, and Harness following Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices.

· Lead infrastructure modernization, operating system upgrades, application re-platforming, and cloud-native transformation initiatives.

· Plan and execute database migrations, storage modernization, disaster recovery configurations, and Active Directory integration.

· Containerize applications and deploy workloads to managed container platforms such as ECS, EKS, AKS, and App Service Containers.

Security, Governance & Delivery

· Ensure cloud solutions comply with enterprise security, compliance, and governance standards.

· Coordinate vulnerability assessments, authentication and authorization testing, data security validation, and infrastructure security reviews.

· Implement monitoring, resource tagging, Customer Managed Keys (CMK), disaster recovery documentation, and operational runbooks.

· Participate in architecture governance and review boards while providing technical oversight throughout migration and stabilization.

· Lead migration execution, production cutover, rollback planning, hypercare support, and post-go-live stabilization to ensure successful business transitions.

Required Qualifications

· Extensive experience designing enterprise cloud solutions on AWS and Microsoft Azure.

· Proven expertise in cloud migration, application modernization, and Target State Architecture (TSA) development.

· Strong hands-on experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, Azure Bicep, and Harness.

· Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

· Strong knowledge of cloud networking, disaster recovery, database migration, storage modernization, and managed cloud services.

· Experience with containerization technologies and Kubernetes platforms, including ECS, EKS, AKS, and Docker.

· Knowledge of security best practices, including vulnerability management, SAST, DAST, SCA, container security, IaC scanning, SSO integration, and Customer Managed Keys (CMK).

· Experience conducting application discovery, dependency mapping, migration wave planning, and architecture assessments.
