Contract: 12+ Months Contract

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Data Engineer to support ongoing data initiatives across onshore and offshore teams. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading technical execution, providing architectural guidance, and ensuring the development of scalable, resilient, and optimized data solutions. This role centers on building comprehensive data pipelines and establishing standards for a modern data stack, primarily focused on Snowflake and cloud technologies, with an emphasis on operational excellence and governance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of robust data pipelines supporting multiple data layers, from raw ingestion to transformed and business-ready data.
• Collaborate effectively with Business Process Owners, Solution Architects, Delivery Leads, and engineering teams to translate complex data requirements into scalable solutions.
• Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders about how data processes work, why they are implemented, and the overarching goals.
• Ensure data pipelines follow a defined process: source --> ingestion frameworks (e.g., Fivetran or proprietary tools) --> raw data storage in Snowflake --> transformation layers using dbt or Spark --> final business data layers.
• Establish and influence standards for data architecture, emphasizing "Governance as Code" and operational best practices.
• Support offshore and onshore teams in executing ongoing data initiatives, providing both technical guidance and oversight.

Required Qualifications

• 10-12+ years of experience in data engineering.
• Extensive experience working with Snowflake, SQL, and cloud platforms (Azure preferred but other clouds acceptable).
• Proficiency with data ingestion frameworks, such as Fivetran or similar tools; experience with proprietary ingestion software is also acceptable.
• Hands-on experience with data transformation tools like dbt or Spark.
• Strong communication skills, capable of explaining technical processes, justifications, and goals to diverse stakeholders, including business partners and technical teams.
• Proven ability to manage and speak to each stage of the data pipeline process, from raw ingestion to final business layers.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in environments emphasizing modern data stack standards and operational excellence.
• Ability to lead technical initiatives and influence data architecture decisions.
• Familiarity with automated governance and data quality best practices.
• Prior experience collaborating across global or offshore teams.
