Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Database Developer with strong hands-on expertise in PostgreSQL and Oracle database development. The ideal candidate will have experience with PL/SQL, PL/pgSQL, complex SQL development, database migration, performance tuning, ETL, and database integration.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Oracle PL/SQL packages, stored procedures, functions, triggers, views, and complex SQL queries.

• Develop and maintain PostgreSQL database objects, including functions, procedures, triggers, and views using PL/pgSQL.

• Analyze Oracle database objects, map dependencies, and assist with migrating Oracle PL/SQL code to PostgreSQL.

• Troubleshoot and optimize slow-running SQL queries, execution plans, indexing strategies, partitioning, and overall database performance.

• Design, develop, consume, and support RESTful APIs for database and enterprise application integration.

• Build, maintain, and support ETL processes and data pipelines for accurate and efficient data movement.

• Collaborate with application developers, QA engineers, DevOps teams, architects, and business analysts.

• Prepare technical documentation, deployment scripts, release procedures, and standard operating procedures for database changes and production deployments.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong experience with PostgreSQL development, including PL/pgSQL, database design, and query optimization.

• Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Database 11g/12c/19c and advanced PL/SQL programming.

• Expertise in complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, packages, triggers, and views.

• Strong understanding of relational database concepts, data modeling, normalization, and indexing.

• Experience analyzing execution plans using Oracle Explain Plan and PostgreSQL EXPLAIN/EXPLAIN ANALYZE.

• Experience with RESTful APIs, including development, integration, testing, and troubleshooting.

• Experience working with JSON/XML data formats and API-based data exchange.

• Experience building and supporting ETL processes and data migration activities.

• Proficiency with Unix/Linux shell scripting for database automation and operational tasks.

• Experience with Git and version control.

• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
