Model Context Protocol (MCP)

Client wants to accelerate adoption of Model Context Protocol (MCP) across its Insurance portfolio. MCP is the standard mechanism for securely exposing domain data and business processes to AI agentic applications. The goal is to enable productionready MCP servers (v1.0) in each insurance domain that can immediately support Agent Assist use cases, while being architected for future enterprise AI scenarios.

What the Client Wants from the Partner

• A specialized MCP acceleration team (contracting partner) that can work directly with insurance domains.
• The partner must bring MCP expertise, technical delivery capability, and lightweight project management.

Key Responsibilities for the Partner

• Collaborate with domain SMEs to identify business questions and processes to expose to AI agents.
• Design and implement MCP servers that aggregate:
  • Multiple domain APIs
  • Static/curated reference data
  • Metadata and schemas for accurate agent reasoning
• Build MCP servers using enterprise MCP infrastructure and tooling, compliant with security and governance standards.
• Ensure servers deliver lowlatency, highaccuracy responses for realtime agent interactions.
• Validate correctness, accuracy, and performance with test results.
• Provide documentation, knowledge transfer, and handoff materials for domain ownership.

Roles & Skills

• MCP Architect (8 10 years experience in enterprise architecture).
• Essential skills: MCP standards, patterns, tooling, enterprise architecture.
• Desirable skills: AI/ML data infrastructure, governance frameworks, API integration.

Division of Responsibilities

• Domains: Provide SMEs, define prioritized questions/processes, retain longterm ownership.
• Contracting Partner: Supply MCPexperienced resources, manage delivery discipline, transfer knowledge, align with enterprise standards.
