System Administration

Job Title: Infrastructure Specialist - System Administration Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid)

• 3+ years of experience in Infrastructure / System Administration.
• Strong experience with Linux/Unix administration.
• Proficiency with text editors: Vim, Emacs, or Nano.
• Experience with dnf package manager (or similar).
• Hands-on experience with Ansible, Puppet, Chef, and Terraform.
• Experience with Azure cloud services (Load Balancer, Application Gateway preferred).
• Knowledge of container technologies: Docker, Kubernetes.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools (ELK stack).
• Strong understanding of cloud architecture (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
• Familiarity with ITIL processes.
• Experience supporting Dev, Test, and Production environments.

• Provide 24/7 technical support for cloud-hosted applications and infrastructure.
• Build, configure, deploy, and maintain development tools and infrastructure environments.
• Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Ansible and Terraform.
• Administer and support Linux, Unix, and Windows server environments.
• Manage load balancing and CDN services (e.g., Azure Load Balancer, Application Gateway).
• Install, configure, and maintain databases such as MySQL, MSSQL, and PostgreSQL.
• Implement and support centralized logging solutions using Logstash, Elasticsearch, and Kibana (ELK stack).
• Monitor system performance using tools such as Satellite, top, htop, vmstat, and journalctl.
• Manage remote access and server connectivity using SSH.
• Automate configuration management using Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
• Support containerized environments including Docker and Kubernetes.
• Troubleshoot issues across APIs, microservices, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, middleware, networking, and security layers.
• Ensure systems are secure and protected against cybersecurity threats.
• Implement auto-scaling and cloud elasticity solutions.
• Support disaster recovery (DR) planning and failover processes.
• Escalate unresolved issues to appropriate support levels.
• Generate regular service management reports for stakeholders.
• Follow ITIL processes and integrated service level management practices.

• Experience in hybrid cloud environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and incident management skills.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices.
• Experience with enterprise service management tools.
