Role Overview

This position holds the responsibility for scheduling and dispatching generation resources to economically balance load and generation. The role ensures compliance with real-time system conditions, applicable regulatory requirements, and NERC reliability standards. The specialist will also evaluate and approve OASIS requests, manage Tags, and perform energy accounting functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain work orders, ensuring regulatory compliance and efficient execution.
  • Plan, schedule, and track work, ensuring compliance with operational and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate maintenance, compliance, and project execution scheduling processes.
  • Perform load forecasts to optimize the generation dispatch mix and ensure resource availability.
  • Coordinate the committing, decommitting, and outages of power plants with the System Operator.
  • Ensure rapid recovery from loss of generation to comply with NERC requirements.
  • Perform hourly and on-peak/off-peak energy accounting functions with adjacent balancing authorities.
  • Evaluate and improve work management execution and lead root cause analysis for operational efficiency.
  • Assist with event response and emergent issues.
Required Qualifications

Education: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a professional certification is required.

Experience: 6 - 10 years of experience in scheduling, operations, or power system planning.

Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Word.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in load forecasting, transmission, and distribution operations.
  • Experience in real-time system planning.
  • Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification.
