Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Integration Engineer (IBM MQ/MFT) to support enterprise middleware and integration solutions within a highly collaborative technology environment. This role will focus heavily on IBM MQ and IBM MFT, while also providing opportunities to work across cloud infrastructure, DevOps, automation, and enterprise technology initiatives.
The ideal candidate will be a technically strong, self-directed engineer who can work across the full lifecycle of technical solutions from architecture and design through implementation and deployment. This person will collaborate with architects, engineers, business analysts, service managers, and other technical stakeholders to develop secure, scalable, highly available, and reliable integration solutions in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, configure, and support enterprise integration solutions leveraging IBM MQ and IBM MFT.
- Work across the full technology lifecycle, including solution design, infrastructure build, implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, business analysts, service managers, and other technical teams to develop and deliver technical solutions.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including design documents, specifications, implementation plans, and technology roadmaps.
- Coordinate network and server build requests and support the installation and configuration of enterprise software.
- Design and implement highly available, scalable, secure, and reliable infrastructure and integration environments.
- Leverage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automated configuration tools to improve infrastructure deployment and management.
- Apply cloud and DevOps practices to support enterprise technology solutions.
- Troubleshoot complex integration and infrastructure issues and work with technical teams to identify and implement solutions.
- Build strong relationships with technical partners, customers, and stakeholders while driving solutions from inception through completion.
- Work effectively in a highly dynamic, matrixed environment while managing multiple priorities and initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- 5–10 years of relevant experience as an Integration Engineer, MQ Engineer, MQ Architect, or similar role, with experience taking solutions from design through implementation.
- Deep, hands-on expertise with IBM MQ and IBM MFT.
- Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation tools; Terraform experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure and DevOps, including services such as EC2, S3, ELB, SFTP, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, and Lambda.
- Strong understanding of high availability, load balancing, failover, and enterprise security.
- Strong Python scripting skills and experience with Git or similar source control tools.
- Working knowledge of JSON, YAML, and Boto3.
- Strong technical documentation, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a highly matrixed, fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS certification and/or production experience with AWS cloud environments.
- Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, and DevOps practices.
- Experience with Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, or similar automation technologies.
- Knowledge of SOA, microservices, APIs, and enterprise application/web server architecture.
- Experience supporting internal and external integrations in large-scale enterprise environments.
- Familiarity with MQ Salesforce Bridge, Grafana, or similar integration/monitoring technologies.
