responsibilities:
Architect and significantly enhance core policy lifecycle APIs, scaling the platform to flawlessly handle tens of thousands of complex transactions daily.
Design and build full-stack product surfaces, utilizing modern React functional patterns to create intuitive consumer-facing portals and agent self-serve tools.
Develop robust orchestration middleware that drives the entire insurance policy lifecycle, including quoting, issuing, endorsing, canceling, and renewing.
Create and optimize transactional workflows and batch pipelines to automate complex clerical tasks, from lender notifications to scheduling automated inspections.
Collaborate closely with founders and cross-functional teams to integrate the core platform with global underwriting teams and specialty insurance carriers.
Drive the engineering culture as a foundational hire, bridging the gap between rigorous technical discipline and the rapid pace of a scaling startup.
qualifications:
5 or more years of professional software engineering experience designing and shipping full-lifecycle product features end-to-end.
At least 3 years of hands-on experience building rich, scalable front-end features using React (specifically utilizing functional patterns).
Proven ability to operate as a product-minded engineer in a fast-paced, high-agility startup environment (moving from the build phase to the optimize phase).
A strong builder's mentality with the capacity to take ownership of critical backend architecture and APIs.
Ability to work in the Bay Area or remotely across the United States.
