Azure Cloud Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce's client in Charlotte, NC is seeking a highly skilled Senior Azure Cloud Engineer to join our team and lead the automation and management of our cloud environments using Terraform, with a strong focus on key Azure services.

Role Overview:
As a Senior Azure Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure. Your expertise in Terraform will be crucial in automating service creation and lifecycle management. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and efficient operation of critical Azure services including AKS (Kubernetes), Azure Database for PostgreSQL, Azure Cosmos DB (MongoDB API), Azure Event Hubs (Kafka), and Azure Cache for Redis.

Key Responsibilities:
* Architect, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure on Azure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform
* Collaborate with development, DevOps, and security teams to build resilient, scalable, and secure cloud environments
* Develop and maintain Terraform modules and reusable components following best practices
* Troubleshoot and optimize cloud resources for performance, cost-efficiency, and reliability
* Stay current with Azure service updates, Terraform releases, and cloud industry trends to continuously improve our infrastructure
* Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing across the team

Automate provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management of Azure services focusing on:
* Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
* Azure Database for PostgreSQL
* Azure Cosmos DB for MongoDB
* Azure Event Hubs for Kafka
* Azure Cache for Redis

REQUIREMENTS:
* To be considered for this position, candidates must have experience in a similar role, or they must possess significant knowledge, experience, and abilities to successfully perform the responsibilities listed
* Relevant education and/or training will be considered a plus
* Experience with: Azure cloud engineering, Terraform, IAC, Kubernetes, Kafka

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
