Function: Assay Development Scientist I
Job description: Experimentation Under close supervision, conducts lab experiments following safety guidelines. Work from and understand protocols provided. Appropriately documents experimental details in eLN and follows RMD guidance documents for ensuring data integrity. May provide experiment details and conclusions for design history files. May troubleshoot issues related to experiments. Execute activities within the assigned timeframe.
Data Analysis: Is capable of analyzing experimental data using basic skills and existing templates created for the purpose. Is able to follow protocols for data analysis with supervision.
Communication: (written and verbal) Communicates results to supervisor in a timely manner. Uses basic technical writing skills to write lab reports in eLN and DHFs (e.g., protocols and reports). May present findings at group meetings Ability to receive and provide feedback.
Professional Interactions: May establish professional relationships, as appropriate. May participate in active collaboration within Development. Accountable and responsible for creating and maintaining a culture of respectful and professional interactions among the entire team.
Laboratory Management: Participates in routine lab maintenance, lab safety, ISO, and QSR implementation. May track laboratory inventory (e.g., equipment, supplies, specimens, raw materials, reagents). Technical Understanding: Has basic understanding of molecular/microbiology and biochemical concepts (e.g., PCR, sterile technique, calculations). Familiar with assay and platform.
People Management (Line): Not responsible for direct management of staff
Project Management: Be aware of project timelines and actively contribute towards the completion of project goals.
