Job Summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems.

GA-ASI Sustainment Organization is looking for an Engineering Manufacturing Liaison to join the SkyGuardian Global Support Solution (SGSS) Sustainment team in Poway, CA. This position involves monitoring, inspecting, and analyzing the configuration management of material, physically and within multiple databases. Attending Change Control Board (CCB) meetings to capture, understand, and respond accordingly to design modifications. Work with customer liaisons for acceptance approval buyoff. This position requires careful decision-making and meticulous attention to detail, as errors could result in significant customer concerns.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manages configuration of Replaceable Units to ensure compliance with program requirements.
  • Inspects incoming goods and retrograde material to specifications.
  • Works with customer liaisons for acceptance approval buyoff.
  • Analyzes engineering specifications and drawings to support program requirements.
  • Participate in Change Control Board (CCB) meetings and adjust inventory based on design changes.
  • Coordinates with the Depot to track items through the repair process.
  • Reviews service bulletins and collaborate with the Fleet Manager to minimize program impact.
  • Handles MICAP (Mission Capable) requests for the program.
  • Develop program-required documentation and assists in process creations and audits.
  • Works with Materials Management, Quality, Engineering, and System Support groups.

Job Qualifications

  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree in business, planning or a related discipline as well as three or more years of progressive experience in planning, coordinating and scheduling production operations. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.
  • Must have a general knowledge of production and engineering support principles and concepts and a general understanding of practices, techniques, and standards.
  • Experience with a Configuration Management Database.
  • Experience with SAP is a plus.
  • Ability to organize and lead meetings while ensuring leadership is informed with accurate program status and progress.
  • Must be customer focused and possess:
    • The ability to use independent analysis and judgment in developing solutions to a variety of non-routine problems of moderate scope and complexity
    • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills to accurately document and report findings to a variety of audiences
    • Excellent interpersonal skills to influence and guide employees, managers and external parties
    • Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft products
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment is essential.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance is required.
