Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Cloud Database Engineer with expertise in Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform), cloud database architecture, and AI/GenAI technologies. This role will drive database platform strategy, define scalable cloud database solutions, establish infrastructure automation standards, and integrate AI-powered capabilities across enterprise data platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement scalable cloud database architectures on Google Cloud Platform.
Develop database platform standards, self-service frameworks, and “golden paths.”
Lead AI/GenAI adoption using Gemini Enterprise, MCP patterns, and intelligent automation.
Architect and manage Cloud SQL, AlloyDB, Spanner, Firestore, Bigtable, Memorystore, MongoDB, and BigQuery environments.
Build and maintain Terraform-based Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions.
Implement metadata governance, data lineage, classification, and data-as-a-product practices using Dataplex and Knowledge Catalog.
Optimize database performance, query tuning, indexing, and distributed system reliability.
Apply SRE principles for high availability, disaster recovery, and fault tolerance.
Manage Google Cloud Platform IAM, encryption, service accounts, and secure CI/CD pipelines.
Collaborate with AI/ML, engineering, and data teams to enhance platform capabilities.
Mentor engineers and promote cloud-native and AI-assisted engineering practices.
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of database engineering experience with strong Google Cloud Platform expertise.
Hands-on experience with BigQuery, Cloud SQL, AlloyDB, Spanner, Firestore, Memorystore, MongoDB, and related Google Cloud Platform database services.
Experience with AI/GenAI tools such as Gemini Enterprise or similar platforms.
Strong knowledge of Dataplex, Knowledge Catalog, metadata management, and data governance.
Experience with Terraform, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and CI/CD pipelines.
Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform IAM, security, encryption, and compliance frameworks.
Experience in query optimization, database performance tuning, and SRE practices.
Proficiency in at least one programming language with strong development experience.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
