The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company's regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule YEAR-ROUND.

Your Responsibilities
As a Part Time Student Software Engineer for John Deere World Headquarters located in Champaign, IL you will:

Help build and improve data analytics capabilities and web applications centered on customer data and identity.
This role offers an opportunity to work on foundational systems and services that support the company's data ecosystem and enable other data products across the organization.
VISA Sponsorship is NOT available for this position
What Skills You Need
Ideally you will be pursuing a degree in the Computer Science, Software Engineering and Engineering discipline; others may apply.

Must be registered as a full-time student at a U.S. local accredited college/university.

Familiarity with web application development.

Familiarity with Java, Python, and SQL.

Understanding of basic software engineering concepts, including debugging, testing, version control, and working with APIs.

Ability to learn new technologies and contribute effectively in a collaborative development environment.

Graduation date of Spring of 2027 or later.

Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above.

Available to work during the academic year 16-20 hours/weekly.

Available to work during the summer semester 30-40 hours/weekly.

Must be able to commute to the work location in Champaign, IL.

What Makes You Stand Out
Experience with or familiarity with the Spring Framework.
Experience using PySpark for large-scale data processing and analytics.
Familiarity with Extreme Programming (XP) software development practices, such as pair programming, test-driven development, continuous integration, and frequent feedback.
Exposure to Amazon Web Services (AWS), data pipelines, APIs, or modern web application technologies.
Interest in customer data, identity, analytics, and building foundational software services.
