Senior Java Developer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in need of a Senior Java Developer in Jersey City, NJ.

Responsibilities:
* Serve as a technical expert for assigned applications and support solution design that meets functional requirements
* Partner with business, infrastructure, and delivery teams to deploy optimal environments and improve application performance
* Design, build, test, troubleshoot, and support application components across the SDLC
* Apply appropriate development methodologies and contribute to CI/CD and improved ways of working
* Identify, monitor, and escalate risks while aligning day-to-day work with control and compliance standards

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
* 8+ years of relevant experience
* Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise-grade Java applications
* Strong knowledge of secure, scalable, highly resilient system design and transactional processing
* Expertise with Spring (Boot, Data JPA, Kafka) and Maven multi-module projects
* Hands-on experience with event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka
* Strong Redis experience, including caching strategies with Spring Cache
* Deep experience with Aurora PostgreSQL, performance tuning, schema design, and Liquibase
* Solid understanding of cloud architectures (IaaS, PaaS) and container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Helm)
* Experience supporting multi-region, highly available deployments and CI/CD pipelines
* Agile/Scrum experience using tools like Jira
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
* Financial Services experience required

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
