Senior Archer IRM Developer / Archer SME
Location: Hybrid – Columbus, OH or Merrillville, IN
Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, generally between 7:00 AM–5:00 PM ET, with flexibility for after-hours releases
Onsite: Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday
Contract: 12 months, with potential conversion to FTE within 6 months

Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Archer IRM Developer / Archer SME to support NiSource''s enterprise RSA Archer Integrated Risk Management (IRM) platform across both Archer SaaS and Archer OnPrem environments.
This role will support an Agile product team responsible for a broad range of Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) capabilities, including compliance, issues and risks, policy management, NERC CIP, NERC 693, TSA compliance, third-party risk, supply chain risk, IT/OT risk, business continuity, and enterprise risk management.
The ideal candidate will combine strong hands-on Archer configuration/development skills with GRC business analysis capabilities and be comfortable translating business requirements into scalable Archer solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Design, configure, enhance, and maintain Archer IRM applications across SaaS and OnPrem environments.
Configure Archer applications, questionnaires, workflows, fields, layouts, calculations, notifications, dashboards, reports, access controls, and data-driven events.
Support new Archer use-case implementations as well as enhancements to existing applications.
Develop and maintain integrations and data feeds involving systems such as ServiceNow, Workday, MuleSoft, Qualys, JavaScript, and Ariba.
Perform data imports/exports, bulk updates, reporting, workflow automation, and integration troubleshooting.
Translate business and GRC requirements into functional and technical Archer solutions.
Participate in Agile/Scrum activities including sprint planning, backlog refinement, requirements analysis, user story development, testing, UAT, defect resolution, and release readiness.
Perform configuration, unit testing, system/integration testing, debugging, and production deployment support.
Partner with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Solution Architects, Archer developers, GRC super users, business stakeholders, and vendor/Professional Services teams.
Lead efforts to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve defects and production issues.
Support proactive monitoring, reporting, testing, documentation, and release activities.
Help automate manual processes related to compliance, evidence tracking, issue management, reporting, and risk management.
Provide technical guidance and direction to junior/intermediate resources and other team members.
Support application availability, maintenance, enhancements, upgrades, and post-production support.
Develop and maintain application, security, and technical documentation and training materials.
Promote platform standardization, knowledge transfer, and reduction of single points of failure.
Work independently on high-priority initiatives while managing multiple competing priorities and tight deadlines.
Required Qualifications
7+ years of relevant GRC technology, Archer, or related experience.
4+ years of hands-on RSA Archer configuration/development experience.
Strong experience with the Archer IRM platform.
Hands-on experience configuring Archer applications, workflows, questionnaires, fields, layouts, calculations, notifications, reports, dashboards, access roles, and data-driven events.
Experience supporting both new Archer implementations and enhancements to existing applications.
Experience with Archer integrations, APIs, data feeds, imports/exports, bulk updates, or workflow automation.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot technical and configuration issues.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum or Professional Scrum environments.
Experience with requirements refinement, user stories, testing, UAT, defect resolution, and release management.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to translate business requirements into practical technical solutions.
Ability to work effectively with both technical teams and business/GRC stakeholders.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently in high-priority situations and meet tight deadlines.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with both Archer SaaS and Archer OnPrem.
Utility, energy, or other regulated-industry experience.
Knowledge of GRC processes including:
Governance and compliance
Enterprise risk management
Issue management
Policy management
Third-party risk
Cybersecurity risk
Regulatory compliance
Audit
Familiarity with NIST CSF, NERC CIP, NERC 693, TSA, SOX, or similar regulatory/compliance frameworks.
Experience integrating Archer with ServiceNow, Workday, MuleSoft, Qualys, JavaScript, or Ariba.
ITIL v3 or v4 certification/experience.
Experience providing technical leadership or mentoring junior/intermediate developers.
Strong facilitation, presentation, conflict-management, and stakeholder-partnership skills.
Work Environment
This is a hybrid role, with onsite work required Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at one of the following locations:
Columbus, OH

The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday between approximately 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM ET, with flexibility to support after-hours releases when required.
Parking is not reimbursed by NiSource for contingent workers.
Assignment & Conversion
Initial assignment: 12 months
Potential FTE conversion: Within approximately 6 months for the right candidate, subject to approved headcount, business need, and strong performance.
Target onboarding date: October 1, 2026
Important Candidate Requirement
Quality over volume. Candidates should have direct, hands-on Archer configuration/development experience.
Candidates with only general GRC experience, without hands-on Archer development or configuration experience, will not be considered.
Utility experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Diversified Telecommunications Inc., (DTI) was founded in 1985, as a pay phone provider. Knowing the needs of the communities it served brought DTI early success. Because DTI was an independent payphone company with lower overhead, it was able to offer a much larger percentage of the phones’ revenues to retailers than bigger providers, such as Illinois Bell, could offer. With the proliferation of cell phones, the pay phone business began to dwindle. Looking ahead DTI had already begun exploring the information technology services arena and found two areas in which to expand their business.
Expanding into Network and IT Consulting
The first area of expansion was in network infrastructure. This included network cabling, which was a logical extension of the phone business. With the growth of business networks, it was a smart move. DTI has been offering network cabling, including network design, pre-project planning, structured cabling systems and on-site technicians, since 1994. Based on the success of the network infrastructure business, Diverse Technologies, Inc. was created in 2008 to provide network communication technicians from I.B.E.W. Local 134, project managers, project coordinators and of course account managers to offer an expanded set of Network Services to help ensure clients expectations were exceeded from beginning to end.
The second area of expansion is IT Consulting, including ERP implementations, software application design and development, computer programming, project management and supplemental staffing. DTI saw that a project often required additional sets of hands or skill sets our client did not have on staff. As opposed to hiring additional staff, they looked to DTI to fill their needs. The division, originally developed to support client needs for project assistance in 1996, grew into the establishment of Diversified Technology, Inc. in 2007.
Adjusting to a Changing Market
Into the 2000s, DTI grew at an incredible rate. It was recognized twice by the Inner City 100 as one of the fastest growing inner-city companies in America. DTI’s client list included some of the top organizations headquartered in Chicago, such as Amoco, Ameritech, and Quaker Oats. But a series of mergers and acquisitions, with corporate decisions now being made outside Chicago, resulted in DTI losing some of its large, long-term clients. Therefore, DTI transitioned once again, balancing its portfolio to include more clients in the government and education industries that aren’t susceptible to mergers and acquisitions by out-of-state corporations, developing strong relationships with some of the largest system integrators and software providers in the business, and providing its service offerings to organizations throughout the country.
Focusing on Specific Industries and Partners
Today, DTI has three services: IT Consulting, Advisory, and Network Services. Advisory is the newest offering, where DTI can provide advisory services for project management, quality assurance, and organizational change management that are software agnostic. While it supports many industries, DTI is focused on Energy, state and local government/education (SLED), and Financial Services. Its experience working with energy firms includes ERP systems, smart meters, and integrating systems to accommodate mergers and acquisitions. Its SLED practice supports state and local governments, including a specialization in transit authorities, along with the needs of K-12 as well as higher education. For financial services organizations, such as JP Morgan Chase, DTI provides IT Consulting and Advisory services.
DTI has built strong relationships with its clients, large system integrators such as Accenture, Deloitte, PwC, and IBM, and software providers such as Oracle, SAP and ServiceNow. DTI has realized significant growth over the last few years following this strategy.
