Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced SAP Variant Configuration (VC) Consultant to support a client undergoing an SAP ECC to S/4HANA transformation. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in SAP Variant Configuration and have hands-on experience assessing, migrating, and optimizing VC functionality during S/4HANA conversion projects.
The consultant will work closely with business stakeholders and SAP teams to evaluate existing configuration models, identify migration impacts, and provide guidance on best practices for transitioning SAP VC capabilities to S/4HANA.
SAP Variant Configuration (VC) is a module that allows companies to manage highly customizable products (e.g., cars, machinery, or computers) using a single configurable material code. Instead of creating separate materials for every possible combination, it dynamically determines pricing, bills of material (BOMs), and routings based on customer selections
Key Responsibilities
Assess existing SAP Variant Configuration (VC) setup in SAP ECC.
Support the migration and conversion of VC functionality from ECC to S/4HANA.
Analyze configurable materials, characteristics, classes, dependencies, BOMs, and routings.
Conduct impact assessments and identify gaps or required remediation activities.
Provide recommendations for leveraging S/4HANA capabilities and best practices.
Collaborate with business users to understand product configuration requirements.
Support workshops, solution design discussions, and client presentations.
Assist with testing, validation, and deployment activities related to VC migration.
Troubleshoot configuration and integration issues during the conversion process.
Required Qualifications
8+ years of SAP experience with strong focus on SAP Variant Configuration (VC).
Proven experience in SAP ECC to S/4HANA migration or transformation projects.
Deep understanding of:
o Configurable Materials
o Characteristics and Classes
o Object Dependencies
o Super BOMs
o Super Routings
o Pricing Integration
Experience conducting system assessments and migration planning.
Strong client-facing communication and consulting skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Advanced Variant Configuration (AVC) in S/4HANA.
Knowledge of SAP PP, SD, and Manufacturing processes.
Experience in manufacturing industries with highly configurable products.
Prior participation in S/4HANA brownfield or greenfield implementations.
