Product Owner (Finance Systems)

Location: Nashville, TN (Hybrid)
Contract Length: 12 Months (Potential for Extension)
Pay Rate: $60-$70/hr

We''re looking for a Product Owner with a strong finance background to support a large-scale business transformation initiative. This person will work closely with finance stakeholders and development teams, helping turn business needs into clear requirements, user stories, and priorities for the engineering team.

The right candidate will understand finance processes, be comfortable working with ERP systems, and have experience managing a backlog in an Agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage the product backlog for finance-related applications and initiatives
• Work with business stakeholders to gather requirements and understand priorities
• Write user stories and acceptance criteria for the development team
• Lead backlog grooming and prioritization activities
• Partner closely with developers, business users, and leadership teams throughout the development lifecycle
• Participate in sprint planning, standups, reviews, and other Agile ceremonies
• Support user acceptance testing and validate completed work
• Act as the main point of contact between Finance and Technology teams

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner in an Agile/Scrum environment
• Strong background in finance, accounting, or financial operations
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
• Experience with invoicing, financial workflows, system integrations, and process automation
• Strong experience managing backlogs, writing user stories, and defining acceptance criteria
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work with both technical teams and business users
• Experience presenting to senior leadership and cross-functional teams

Preferred Experience

• Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
• SAP
• Global or international finance environments
• Intercompany accounting and financial processes
• CSPO or other Agile certifications
• SQL and/or financial systems experience

Additional Details

• Must currently live in the Nashville area
• Hybrid schedule with 3 onsite days per week and remote work on Fridays
• Occasional additional onsite days may be required based on business needs
• Background check and drug screen required prior to start
