TMS (Transportation Management System) Business Analyst

We are seeking an experienced TMS (Transportation Management System) Business Analyst to support the implementation, enhancement, and optimization of transportation and logistics systems. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams by analyzing business processes, gathering requirements, and ensuring the effective configuration and integration of TMS solutions.

This role requires strong domain knowledge in supply chain and transportation operations, combined with excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and document business requirements related to transportation, logistics, and supply chain operations.

• Work closely with stakeholders (Operations, Supply Chain, IT, Finance) to understand transportation workflows and system needs.

• Translate business requirements into functional specifications for TMS configuration and development teams.

• Support TMS implementation, upgrades, and enhancements across transportation modules (planning, execution, freight settlement, carrier management).

• Analyze current transportation processes and recommend system-driven improvements.

• Participate in system configuration, testing (SIT/UAT), and deployment activities.

• Develop test cases, execute testing scenarios, and validate system functionality.

• Support integration efforts between TMS and other enterprise systems such as ERP (SAP/Oracle), WMS, EDI, and third-party carrier platforms.

• Monitor system performance and recommend optimizations to improve efficiency and cost savings.

• Provide end-user training, documentation, and post-go-live support.

• Assist in data migration, reporting, and dashboard development related to transportation KPIs.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in Transportation, Logistics, or Supply Chain domain.

• Strong experience working with Transportation Management Systems (e.g., Oracle TMS, SAP TM, Manhattan, Blue Yonder, MercuryGate, etc.).

• Solid understanding of transportation operations including routing, freight settlement, carrier management, and shipment planning.

• Experience with requirement gathering, process mapping, and business process reengineering.

• Familiarity with system integrations (API, EDI, middleware).

• Experience supporting UAT, test case development, and production deployment.

• Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in global transportation or multi-modal logistics environments.

• Knowledge of freight audit, compliance, and regulatory requirements.

• Experience with data analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau, SQL).

• Agile or Scrum methodology experience.

• PMP, CBAP, or relevant certifications (preferred but not mandatory).
