Job Summary

The Technology Engineer, Principal provides enterprise-wide technical leadership and strategic direction for technology engineering initiatives. This role guides modernization efforts, establishes engineering best practices, and helps ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with long-term business strategy. The Technology Engineer, Principal influences architectural standards and drives innovation across multiple systems and services.

Essential Functions
  • Provides technical leadership for enterprise technology strategy, governance, and architecture alignment.
  • Leads the design and implementation of cross-platform integrations and modernization initiatives.
  • Defines engineering standards, frameworks, and automation practices to improve operational efficiency.
  • Partners with senior information technology and business leaders to prioritize and deliver strategic technology initiatives.
  • Mentors engineers across teams and promotes continuous improvement and technical excellence.
  • Evaluates emerging technologies to inform future-state architecture and roadmap decisions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; or the equivalent required
  • More than 10 years of experience in technology engineering, information technology solution development, or a related field required
  • In-depth knowledge of Tier 0 applications and infrastructure, including forests, domains, trust relationships, replication topology, and FSMO roles. Expert knowledge of Global Catalog functionality and strong grasp of AD replication mechanics. Proficiency in DNS, DHCP, PKI and GPO, preferred.
  • Expert-level automation capabilities, using PowerShell, Python, Ansible, or similar scripting tools to standardize builds, enforce configuration baselines or changes, and eliminate manual processes and risk, preferred.
  • Advanced virtualization expertise focused on virtual server workloads, including designing and supporting failover strategies, implementing recovery techniques, and performing deep-level troubleshooting across compute, storage, and network layers within the hypervisor environment, preferred.
  • Mentorship and leadership abilities, guiding engineers, elevating team capability, and fostering a culture of technical excellence, preferred.
  • Experience evaluating emerging technologies, conducting proofs of concept, and recommending adoption strategies that align with enterprise needs, preferred.
  • Strong understanding of security frameworks, Zero Trust principles, and compliance requirements relevant to server and identity infrastructure, preferred.
  • Cross-functional collaboration skills, working closely with networking, storage, backup/recovery, security, application owners, and business stakeholders to deliver integrated solutions, preferred.
  • Operational discipline, ensuring strict adherence to change control, documentation standards, and Tier 0 governance, preferred.
