  • Back half | Wednesday-Saturday | 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Night and day shifts available

Role Overview

The Data Center Technical Operations Engineer plays a critical role in maintaining the reliability, safety, and efficiency of a large-scale Data Center. This position supports mission-critical infrastructure by executing preventative and corrective maintenance, managing vendor activity, and ensuring operational excellence across electrical, mechanical, and cooling systems. This role is ideal for early-career engineers or technicians seeking hands-on experience in critical facilities and data center operations with exposure to large-scale infrastructure and cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site leadership and oversight for shift technicians, lead technicians, contractors, and vendors, ensuring all work aligns with established procedures and safety standards.
  • Support daily operations and emergency response for critical systems, including:
    • Switchgear, generators, UPS systems, PDUs
    • Chillers, cooling towers, CRAC/CRAH units
    • Building monitoring and control systems (BMS/EPMS)
  • Perform and support preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance activities to ensure high availability and reliability.
  • Establish operational benchmarks, analyze trends, and prepare reports related to facility performance, risks, and maintenance activities.
  • Assist with asset management, inventory tracking, and documentation accuracy.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or technical degree from a military, trade, or vocational program, with relevant hands-on experience with UPS, PDU, Generators, AC/DC , HVAC
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in facilities, engineering, data centers, or critical infrastructure.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and perform effectively in a fast-paced, operational environment.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Sterling, VA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $33.00/hr.
